I dont understand the MLB draft. He was forced to sign that?

The slot value was $300K but they do not have to offer it.

Each team has the same max $$ available to pay all drafted players. The funds that Dugas was shorted will either be saved or go to another player to pay over slot so they will sign.

If he was able to see what another team would offer because of the offer under slot, I'd bet he would get a lot more
You act like every other team didn’t have a chance to draft him and pay him more.

That’s why juniors rarely return for the Sr. season.

I would bet the farm he doesn’t regret playing on the 2023 LSU CWS team. Between NIL and other monies he is t that far behind.

If he’s destined/ good enough for pro level money he will get there.

Each team gets whatever total slot value $$$ for all their picks, I gets way more complicated from there, like if a player doesn't sign they lose the slot value or something or another. Basically it's different for every team

That's not how any of this works. He was drafted at a slot value of over $300k. The team intentionally drafted him there to pay him the minimum to get the additional money to sign someone else.

It is how it works and has worked for years, yall have short memories. Cole freeman also got only a few thousand to sign. They werent drafting dugas anywhere near the 6th if they had to pay him slot, he’d have been a 15th round pick where he wouldve gotten about 20k

I’m well aware of how it works. You seem to be the one that’s lost and rustled.

Yes, players are drafted. Some get slot, some get over, some get under. Every other team had the opportunity to draft him and pay him “a lot more” yet they didn’t.

All I'm saying is it's bullshite what they pay these minor league players. XFL players made $200,000 minimum for their season if you want to compare

Dylan Crews is going to get $10 million because the Nationals planned all along to draft a few college seniors that they could save money on.

News flash:

Crews likely would have been the #1 pick but the Pirates weren’t willing to give Crews that much money. The Pirates knew in their pre-draft negotiations that they could get Skenes for a little less money than Crews and thus they could draft more “mlb prospects” and not have to throw off a couple of picks on college seniors who don’t project to make the MLB.

Okay, what do you think the tv deal is for the xfl and what do you think it is for minor league baseball? Are you going to next complain that womens lacrosse doesnt get paid enough because no one watches their games?

I don’t really care if “that’s just the way it is” or “that’s how it’s always been,” a team giving a guy only $20K is fricking retarded

He’s getting more like 47k for a half year of work in the minors.

You think that’s bad. Wait till next year when they’re still in A ball and aren’t getting that bonus.

20k...thats chump change in the world of NILs

This isn’t football my guy. Baseball players NIL deals are far far less than this board has convinced themselves they are

Poor example. Freeman actually got $340k. Comparable example would be Blake Dean. He got around $30k

Yup. One of my buddies owns his own business has an NIL deal with one of the freshman. $6,000 per year.
