I thought one poster made a good point yesterday, maybe JD is trying to protect his completion/interception stats for the draft? If so, whoever advised him to do this is asinine. All that strategy does is lower his draft status because he looks timid.

hesitant, timid, and indecisive are not words you want on your draft grade.

No doubt - Miles won a national championship and averaged 10 wins a year for over a decade. Terrible coach for sure.

It wasn't a good point. It was the prep for a narrative some idiots started about JD being selfish. We have a lot of gaslighters on this board

Rush 3 drop 7 and spy 1 with your fastest safety or CB

If you notice in all of those throws against Florida, there was man coverage. I think you could threaten to torture JD and he still won’t let the ball go deep against a zone, especially if you drop at least 7 in coverage. The receivers look covered ( they’re not ), therefore he doesn’t want to throw into tight windows.

Unfortunately, this will inevitably neutralize ojulari and Perkins bc uga won’t have to make deep passes to run the scoreboard against us.

While I can admit that I think BK is a better coach, Miles is actually a more accomplished coach at this point. BK has to win 1 before we can give him credit for it.

Early on in Miles career at LSU, his teams ALWAYS played hard. We anointed BK for his call on the 2pt. conversion. Let's not forget about playing Florida and going for on 4th down and converting ALL OF THEM! Hester was a beast. Miles always had great teams and our special team players were electric. We were once a DAMN STRONG FOOTBALL TEAM!!!

JJ was worse than JD and Miles still managed to get us to the title game. Dare I say with so much on the line, no way a Miles led team wouldn't have pulled out that victory over TAMU.

Now, I think BK is better but let's not discount everything Miles accomplished here.

LOL...Now put up clips of JD throwing the deep ball in ALL the other games.

Matter of fact, when he did that against Florida, the entire nation was surprised to see we had a passing attack. However, it disappeared after Ole Miss.

JD isn't being criticized because of his inability to throw deep and stretch the field, he's being called out for his UNWILLINGNESS to do so. Yes, he obviously can make the throws, he just won't.

In the last 20 years, when do you recall watching a coach speak in a press conference and speak about "maybe our QB need to take more chances"? BK said that a turnover isn't always the worse thing. That's rare for a coach to say because they're usually too busy trying to get a QB to be more cautious. We have the only QB in America that's afraid to throw deep. Even if you don't complete them, they will stretch the field some. Crazy thing is that most of the time, our WR's have adjusted to poorly thrown balls and bailed JD out by making the catch. There's no more the WR's can do to earn his trust.

So the million dollar questions is...why isn't he making those throws in every game? Personally, I think he's being selfish and protecting his stats. Doesn't matter though, he'll be drafted and be a certified clipboard holder.

Actually, man coverage is good for JD. He can find the 1 on 1 matchup. The deep passes against FL are all man coverage. The way Arky and A&M stopped him is dropping 7 in a zone w a spy. He can’t figure out where to throw the ball in the zone and if he tries to run all the defenders are staring right at him w the spy chasing.

On defense they just need to load the box and stunt their d line with a spy to get JD5 looking at the rush instead of the WRs

This is not the winning defensive scheme against Daniels.
quote:

Rush 3 drop 8. Force Daniels to read the field. Which he’ll hesitate and take off running. Or he’ll throw the short out route for a few yards.

This is. A&M did this all night. There was almost no pressure, Daniels was kept in the pocket, and he didn't pull the trigger.

I feel we will see a different team Saturday. They are not expected to win, they have nothing to lose but to be relaxed a play a complete game. If they win, the get the SEC championship, but I think without a chance to go national, it doesn't mean much to them, so no pressure.
