The days of "Don't plan your wedding during football season" are pretty obsolete at this point.
Its one thing to schedule a wedding the same day as LSU-South Alabama. But scheduling it the day of Alabama game at home is stupid.

I guess if you want your wedding reception to have all of the guys gathered around a TV or watching the game on their phones

Bunch of guys in attendance will resent being there because their wives made them go and they had to give up their tickets to the game. And the party atmosphere will be lit if LSU loses a close one in a heartbreaker.

Invite means you can go. You do what you want. You are a grown man.

It's expected at every fall wedding I've been to for the last 20 years (which is when my friends started getting married, so definitely every fall wedding I've stood in). They plan for it.

Then it’s pretty shitty planning (even though thoughtful) to knowingly create a scenario where a large number of guests are going to be away in another room not involved in the actual event.

Also, pretty bizarre to be shitposting and ranting in a fairly harmless thread until 3 am.

Sorry you're starting to feel really sick.

See you at the game...

What’s the realistic level of heat I get from my wife if I skip it?

Did you RSVP? if you did, and said yes, you go no question. They spent a lot of money on you just to flake. Can't back out when you said yes unless it's like a serious health thing. If you do, the couple getting married should cut you out of their life. Wildly disrespectful move.

Last minute invite? Do whatever you and the wife want.

Like I said, sorry you're feeling sick. Enjoy the game in-person.

Anyone that schedules a wedding during football season are just dumb.

They aren't "dumb". It's their wedding. They should get married whenever they want. They just can't be upset if a significant number of people choose to not attend.

There is a 52% chance they will be divorced in 5 years. 0% chance THIS game will ever be played again. Catch the next weeding.

I'd flip the script here. Bring a battery pack to ensure uninterrupted phone streaming and put down 12-19 beverages. This is on her.

This is exactly what I'm doing at the wedding I'm going to on Saturday night. Everyone can fricking deal with it.
