They've made it to a super regional, they're fricking good. Little Rock made it to a regional with a losing record and damn near ended our season.
I sure as hell hope the team and coaches aren't taking the same attitude some of our fans are in preparations this week.

LSU has to become a good hitting team real fast to keep going imo.
Good luck against their ace lefty. I almost feel like we should just throw off schedule for that game just to save Kade from getting something like a 1-0 or 2-0 loss because we can't hit for shite.

Yep. I was, admittedly, lazy in my preparations for the games this weekend...until I saw this thread. As soon as I end this post I will start watching film of WVU's 8th relief pitcher
WVU has been pretty good on the road. Of course, all of that road success resulted in a grand total of two (2) road wins against NCAA Tournament teams (not counting Clemson). For as doo-doo as LSU was on the road this year, they have 2x as many (regular season) road wins (4) vs. NCAA Tournament teams than WVU.
More importantly, for as good as WVU may have been on the road this year, LSU has been better at home. 33-6 without losing a single series at home.

What was Little Rock's RPI?
Jacksonville was 2-14 against Top 100 teams. Lipscomb was 2-15. Queens was 0-19. UALR beat 3 Top 100 teams in one weekend. Whatever level they were at for most of the season, they were playing a much higher level than those teams this weekend. It wasn’t just LSU.

I guess OP just forgot to post this interesting stat about LSU

Playing the likes of Belmont and Lipscomb on the road does not move me (as someone who currently attends Lipscomb as well)

24-5 no matter what is pretty good. We down playing WVU when LR literally almost knocked LSU out of their own regional. Yeah no.1 vs number rpi ranked 243 Little Rock.
Down playing how? By saying we have a really good shot? It’s a super of course it’ll be tough.

Also interesting is who they were playing for those 24 wins

Op is just trying to sound like he is on to something using Little Rock as an example.
I'll play along...yes OP, if we walk 11 batters, we will lose.

It also helps when we walk 11 batters. I would say most every team in the cou try would beat us in that situation.

IF we learned anything from last week it was records dont matter. What I hope is the WV comes in with a bit of a hangover from a win in the regional. If not on top of their game it could be two and q for them facing Kade and AE.

I know one thing. I'm no longer underestimating anyone LSU plays
That would be true in most cases. But we have two of the best pitchers in the country. And for some reason we drop one, that leaves evens for third game. Anything can happen in baseball but it's been awhile since we had two aces as good.

What's their record on the road in front of 10,000 people?
Posted on 6/4/25 at 4:23 pm to TDsngumbo
If we played three games with LR and pitched Anderson, Anthony, and Evan’s they wouldn’t avg more lose all 3. So remember 11 walks 1st game than Cowan basically spotted them 5 runs 2nd game.

Any fan that actually follows college baseball today should know that especially come tournament time you don’t take any team lightly regardless of who they have beaten and their record. The regionals this past weekend around the country was a great example of that.

It’s a Super, nobody downplaying anything.
This team ain’t overlooking anyone

That’s crazy small considering the competitive teams in all 3 major sports and in major conferences they’ve fielded historically.

Putting an overblown stat into proper context is not downplaying anything. There’s a difference between healthy respect and letting fear creep in based on improperly used data.

I've been to West Virginia and they have a Meth problem.
