What happened to Perkins really. I mean he went from geek status to freak status to no status.

I just don’t know why he absolutely fell off the face of the planet. Amazing crash.

This offense is atrocious.

Ole Miss, their 3rd possession was a 17 play drive. What the offense did to that point is irrelevant... defense should still be fresh in the 1st quarter. They just got worked.

OM scored 24 pts on 500 yds offense and 85 offensive plays. Scoring defense is the key measure here.

If we were averaging what Vandy is on offensive scoring we would be undefeated…

It’s up to the new head coach who the DC will be.

I'm not counting the A&M game against him, the team clearly gave up on BK. Prior to that, we had two bad quarters and some blame can be laid on the offense for them as well.

I'd be good having Baker come back

Depth is an obvious problem on both sides of the ball. Seems like transfer portal is the cause of that, but other teams have to deal with it too.

Vandy scored on every drive except for 1 in the first 3 quarters

Hard to say that we had “two bad quarters”

Oh, stop with that.

Ole Miss scores 31 if the receiver doesn't choose to sit down. As it was, they were able to run out the last 5+ minutes of the clock.

Our defense is better than the past couple years. It is NOT great. People think it is because we now have guys in the secondary making great individual plays, but they're still put in that spot way too often.

When we rush the QB, I guarantee the announcers are going to say "you have to stay disciplined, see how they overrun and lose contain". It will happen again. It's happened all year. The QB will step to the side, and then scramble for 15+ yds, or throw to whoever any linebacker is supposed to cover.

It depends on who takes his place.

If you lose a player who is high energy, good instincts, and quick and replace him with someone who has struggled to be all of those things at the MLB position, then you are getting double screwed.

When the person responsible for the QB is looking at everything other than the QB, that's a problem.

Whit was there against OM and SC and we gave up 25 and 10. Whit was out for Vandy and aTm and we give up 31 (could've been 38) and 49. The QBs in the OM and SC game run for no TDs, against Vandy and aTm they run for 4 TDs.

The problem this defense has is that some players who are liabilities on the field have been propped up as if they are better than what they are and you can see it in almost every big play LSU gives up every game.

The entire team gave up on BK. Defense showed very low effort. I expect them to step up

I feel like this gets overlooked. Front generates no pressure and our DEs consistently get too deep and take themselves out if plays. Part of the reason running QBs kill us

We are still losiing with Whit in all those games.
The hint that Bake was sabotaging to get BK fired, is hideous. He has to interview for the next job or for the next HC. he would be sabotaging himself.

Yes Baker has struggled with running qbs. Some is on him but some is on the players on the field that aren't communicating, LB's covering the same TE while the QB runs the other direction, not spying effectively, not keeping rushing lanes, not keeping contain....etc.
But lets be honest....many DC's struggle with running qb's. Saban has a heck of a time over the years with them. So this isn't all on BB.

When you have an offense that goes 3 and out consistently you Def is going to be gassed in the 2nd half, frustrated, and no fight left.

Go check the team stats in Chicken’s OP on Monday PC thread. LSU defense and Bama defense are damn near the same. The difference is Bama is #4 and we are not because our Offense is straight up TRASH.

A defense is good because it does what it needs to do.

People talk about the Ole Miss game like it was ALL on the offense, and the defense was heroic. Let's look at that, ok?

LSU scored with 5:04 left in the game, to pull within a TD. It was a 15 play drive, took 6:04 off the clock. At this point LSU had run 56 plays (plus the Ole Miss penalties, which didn't count as plays), and had 27:38 in time of possession. Ole Miss had 73 plays, time of possession 27:18.

So LSU actually had the lead in time of possession, and had JUST had their longest drive of the game, giving the defense some rest. You were down 5 pts with over 5 minutes left, needed a stop to give the offense a chance to win the game.
Ole Miss ran the clock out on 11 plays. They chose not to score, which they could have done on the 4th down conversion- the guy stopped and sat down.
That's not what a great defense does in that situation; they get the stop. Maybe the offense doesn't finish it, but they give them that chance.

Now, Vanderbilt game. You realize Vanderbilt didn't punt until the 4th quarter? Their first 6 possessions: TD, TD, downs, FG, TD, TD.
That's not good either.

Well.... retard, which is it? The question was, is he planning an exit or just help torpedo BK's stay.

You don't need to plan an exit unless you suck and are getting fired OR you want to get fired.
