Dumb statement! If he is the best player why is it unfortunate. When healthy he can play.

They are kind of empty

He benefitted from a lot of TO’s for short& reasonable fields.

5-27 on 3rd down in the losses. LSU punted a lot against bad defenses, in which he couldn’t win shootouts with extra possessions.

No it’s not. But what he is saying is that the players always know who the best player is. Not that they know right now.

THIS.

If you listen to the podcast and take the quote into context, this is obviously what was said. The long lead in question by Bobby Hebert deals with the possibility of naming a starter in Mid-August, and Orgeron's long answer speaks to a summer long competition of determining who that will be.

This wasn't a standup press conference in front of cameras where he was asked a straight forward question about who the starter was and said "we already know". It is a small part of a long, rambling talk radio segment with two guys that turns into more of a conversation.

They did raise one interesting point in that other thread. How are transfers affected by sponsorship money? Brennan or Johnson both could just ask their families to pay it back but what about the kids who can't?

That's not how that quote reads...at all.

4 years if he redshirts this season.

You are correct, that is not how it reads.

But if you listen to the podcast, that is how it was conveyed. Hell the entire back half of his answer to the question is him discussing a summer long competition and letting their play on the field determine a starter.

I love the dude, but Orgeron has the unfortunate habit of speaking too conversationally while being in a profession where people dissect everything he says as if he were under oath.

To be fair Brennan got LSU in position to win vs Mizzou, but a torn abdominal muscle

He should have taken himself out of the game for a QB sneak. I blame our coaches for this as much as Brennan. What we know know is that Finley could not have been stopped on a QB sneak for a half yard...

That isn't this job. That was 100% on the coaches.

No doubt, but like I said it didn’t get better with Max under center so other than being misinformed/biased I’m not sure why people think it did and/or hold that against Myles but not Max.

Situational abilities being what they are and are not. Chess involves both the queen and king sides.

Well, he didn't say anything wrong. Did he let the cat out of the bag? Did he say he was not going to let them compete? All he said is he thinks he knows who the starter is already, but at the same time he will let the process play out so that the decision will become very apparent.

Nonetheless, the team already knows who it is and it is Max Johnson. As there are numerous LSU insiders saying that Max Johnson has already separated himself away from Myles Brennan, and those insiders are getting that information not from the coaching staff, but instead via their conversations with the players.

Do you think Max has remained stagnant from last season? I promise you he hasn't. As most young QB's make their biggest progress after their first season when everything begins to slow down for them. I promise you that Max is a far better QB today than he was at anytime last season.

Myles, on the other hand, maxed out a long time ago.

Under the tutelage of Steve Ensminger in the off season, Joe Burrow made his biggest jump between his junior season and his senior season.

However, Myles was in his senior season last season before he got hurt and he was no Joe Burrow. I'm sorry to say, as again, Myles has already maxed out and reached his zenith.

Max, on the other hand, has just barely scratched the surface.

By the way, Myles, how far was that throw on the fourth of July you made to that dude sitting on that boat? That was pretty cool man. I wish you the best of luck wherever you end up transferring to. Which will probably be Moo State.

2 QB systems don’t work. The offense needs one guy to coalesce around and be the leader.

So the guy that’s out of shape and throwing passes to boats is your pick ?

Myles has to win his job back and MJ is doing all the things a starter has to do to keep his job

I’m not convinced Brennan starts at UCLA

Yes, it’s been decided.

It Myles, and it should be.

Only clueless LSU fans think the starter should be Max this year.
