Some of y’all need to watch Jimmy V’s speech on how you should live every day.

It’s ok to cry in private lol

My wife has never seen me cry, for example.

LSU means a lot to me, like it means a lot for other folks. To some, it’s just a stepping stone to a salary. I’m the first of my fathers name to attend and graduate a four year college. On my mom’s side, my grandfather lived in Tiger Stadium and never made less than an A. I grew up watching games with him and now he’s gone….so I can’t help but think about the path I’ve taken, where I am today, and the foundation I’ve laid for my sons.

Forever LSU

I can't believe there are that many opposing fans on Tigerdroppings to even downvote what you said. I started LSU in 1979 and graduated in 1983 and agree with every bit of what you said.
I doubt that’s it, and I suspect it’s being downvoted due to the grown man crying aspect.

Anyone who thinks that that’s childish comes off as extremely insecure. LSU as a whole brings many people back to parents who may longer be here and things of that nature. Many many different reasons to get emotional that has nothing to do with actual sports. Nothing wrong with getting emotional over really anything.

I was in the same situation with the tears, a lot of it was about my Dad. He passed in 2017 at age 95, a man who never left the house without his LSU cap and more often than not, with an LSU shirt on as well. Here's to you Dad, I know you were looking down from heaven enjoying the games, but I sure miss sitting and enjoying our talks and celebrations when LSU would win, especially the Championships!!

I am grateful to God for all the LSU moment's in my life. I was at Tiger Stadium while in utero for Cannon's great punt return. I was there against USC in 1979. I've shared all the LSU title games since then with my family. I shared them with my GF, my dad, my son. Now i am hoping for a grandchild to share them with. This started since before I was born and will continue until I die. God allows these kind of moments in one's life which makes life enjoyable. Man, in Acadiana we are born into it.

Crying over a baseball game is infantile. There are many on these boards struggling with real problems that life has dished out. Not everyone has life so easy that a sporting event takes on such meaning.

Your take on this is infantile. Sports is where many people go to get away from real life for awhile. The person sitting next to you in the stadium hollering and cheering may be going through the most difficult time of their life at that very moment. Who are you to judge a person's emotional reaction to a sporting event? And it doesn't have to be sport. Most people have a hobby that they invest time and emotion into. If they aren't struggling with real life problems, they aren't allowed to cry in your opinion?

Grown men crying over a game played by 17-24 year olds that they don’t have any connection with other than the jersey they wear. Absolutely pathetic.

This. Might have done this as a kid.

But I don’t get a ring, and still have to go to work the next day. LSU winning or losing has no effect on my day to day life. Unless I have a kid on the team, I don’t understand getting emotionally attached to something that doesn’t affect you in the least

Was it pathetic when Beloso teared up and started getting choked up when he spoke about how much LSU means to him in the post game interview?

No, because he’s an actual player, not a fricking fan.

An adult fan crying over a team of kids winning is just sad.

We have one go-round on this earth. Let people be without all the judgement and bullshite you're exuding over someone being happy enough to cry tears, no less how miserable are you dude?

I love happy wet eyes and I certainly had them! They weren't for me, but for the team achieving what they worked so hard to reach. Thompson overcoming adversity. Skenes carrying Milazzo on his back. So many moving moments. I like being happy for others, wet eyes and all.

My dad has been texting YouTube video highlights nonstop for 3 straight days.

Are you on the right board? If you don’t care then why are you here?

If you are from Louisiana, you likely cheered for LSU since you were little, I feel like it gets hard wired.

I’ve said this before, but this is why nothing triggers me more than someone calling my genuine LSU fandom into question. I fell in love with LSU when Hallman was coaching football so when someone accuses me of a being a “fan” (in quotes) they can shut their whore mouth.

Says the “tough guy” that comes here defending his stance.

If it’s so “sad,” why even bother watching the game? You certainly had a reason to, yes? Some sort of emotional reason.

Pretty sad it has to be explained to you.

Particularly when they come back a couple times to defend themselves.

I do LOVE some LSU Baseball. Back where we are supposed to be. Love it, love it for our University and love it for those young men.
