Because at the pro level, everyone gets paid well. In college, you'll have guys making 100k+ and other guys not having the money to go out on a weekend.

True, but it will still cause issues. It's just the nature of the situation.

People act like we are the only ones dealing with this. If we don't embrace it, we will get left behind. You can bet your arse Ohio State, Clemson, Alabama, Georgia, Auburn, Florida, USC etc.. are all in on this shite.

Yeah not sure how that translates to starting a union when they aren't employees and aren't paid a salary.

They can be upset about it all they want, the only answer would be to play better and get deals yourself.

If they are really competitive, I would think it would motivate them. Anyone going to a school like LSU is already motivated to get to the NFL for their payday. Now a smaller payday can come a lot sooner if they produce well enough on the field.

Seems that making the starting lineup now will be a lot more important to players. Jealousy amongst players will obviously play a part. Will be interesting to see how this plays out, especially for non-starting QB's.

there's going to be a lot of resentment from the guys that aren't getting any deals and a lot of rubbing it in their faces from the guys that are, athletes can be incredibly cruel and brutal towards each other, I was a walk on at LSU and the class system was and is very real, walk ons are treated like the lowest scum on earth by the scholarship guys, and this was something that was more or less intangible, wasn't like they were on salary or something, more of a status thing, and they were proud to constantly let you know it

LoL

Like how the idiots are rioting in the streets for their perceived inequalities. And how the soys want their loans forgiven, cause they just don't want to work hard to pay them back

Of, course they will get over it. Face it, college sports is lost.

It will only cause issues in dysfunctional locker rooms that don’t have strong leadership and if it wasn’t that thing it would have been something else that would have eventually led to a divided locker room.

You think guys like Burrow, Clyde, Queen, or Phillips would have let something like this ruin the 2019 season?

I don't deny that at all. I'm sure that will happen. I just don't think it's really going to impact the team in a meaningful way. Everyone wants to get to the same place. Seeing your teammates succeed and get deals "should" motivate you to follow their lead.

Most are just not familiar with what the present system has been to even form an educated opinion on what's going to happen and with good reason

Those reasons are going to become more transparent now

This will actually benefit those who have provided benefits

Yes, tell that to a solid veteran starter with no money coming in, with a highly regarded freshman behind him on the depth chart with money coming in that isn't ready to play

Playing time is still the biggest commodity...if I'm the starter I don't care how much the back up is making...focus on becoming better and retaining your starting position and your payday will come later in the NFL...

Playing time could easily be affected by who is the benefactor

Coaches have had to be GMs for years now

Not everyone is getting paid, and that's not going to change

Coaches will have to decide what position and/or player is a priority each year

No different than it has been

Will they miss an assignment and let the pass rushers in?
If they want a shot at ever getting paid they better not. Does Tom Brady get killed because he gets a new contract and the journeyman OL is working for peanuts by comparison? Nope.

You are just as clueless as the rest. Are there any rules?
What happens in any system where there are no rules?

Jordy Culotta feels the same way. It's almost as though it's a done deal.
