Too early to speculate- we need some serious upgrades at multiple positions ! BK really let this go to shite !

I’d say yes. Depending on QB being mobile. Also depends on DC.

Schedule stacks up nicely.

State
Arky
Ole piss
Auburn
Kentucky

Several schools with a new coach (not on Lanes level)

3 “toughest” games at home. Bama, Texas, a@m

Tenner on road.

Forgot about Clemson. But also at home and they are replacing a lot and Dabo doesn’t portal much.

Not sure but I do know that I won't have to find an excuse to walk away from the TV when the offense is on the field like I have the last couple years.

Even with the portal, it takes more than 1 off season to rebuild/reload in the SEC, especially with the schedule LSU has in 2026.

I expect playoffs in 2028, just miss in 2027.

I do want to average 30-33 PPG on offense every season though

Kelly took over a dumpster fire, restocked the cupboard, brought in a Heisman-level QB, and won the SEC West in Year 1.

The bar is set pretty high for Kiffin, but I'm optimistic.

All depends on who they pick up at QB in the portal and OL in general.

Brian frigging Kelley got LSU to the SEC championship game in his first season after having a completely depleted roster.

And? That team finished with four regular season losses and outside of the top 12. We would not have made the playoffs in Kelly’s first year.

Correct. How does that in any way diminish my point? Lane is starting in a much better situation here and is a much better coach.

Ask again at the end of January when roster and staff is finalized. Picture is really blurry right now.

True expectations are 8-4 with the challenges of not only putting a staff together that works well off each other, Need to find a couple of Portal QB's that can tote the load in the SEC. Then we still have challenges building a solid O-line and a depth chart to support it. We are losing key players on Defense that will need to be replaced and depth built. Special teams had its struggles this season. Need some athletes there that can sure things up. THESE THINGS TAKE TIME! If he was to go 9-3 I would consider that above ceiling for his first season. Problem is if he falls into a clover patch and puts together a 10 win season we are doomed as a fan base. We will expect that to be the norm moving forward because we are not smart and critical thinkers as a group. We will want his head on a stake in 3 years after a 10 win opener. That's the hard truth of our fan base.

I think this team was closer than we appeared with the 5 losses.

Just didn’t have the winning mindset or attitude needed to beat the really good teams.

I believe all that changes and we get 3 of those 5 losses back next year and make them wins.

I’m on the Lane Train so I’m ridin

Need to see the roster before we can make that prediction baw. Specifically the QB.

If he gets a guy that has mobility and can spin it, we're good. If we get a Nuss gunslinger type, we're screwed.

Lane knows what skills and abilities thrive in his system, so I have no doubt that he will seek that type of player out.

Not important. The Process is more important at this point. Implement The Process.

Nope. We need a new QB, new OL, new DL, new LBs and possibly a new defensive staff. And we play Texas, Texas A&M, Bama, Ole Miss on top of Clemson and Tennessee. It'll be impressive if he makes the playoffs in year 1.
