B. I'd be ok with charging for parking if they'd keep the price reasonable for a 1/2 mile walk.. $20???
Try double that according to Apple Maps and Google Maps. LSU provides free parking in late September to LSU Football Fans that is over 1 mile away from Tiger Stadium.
Ridiculous.
ETA: Apple and Google calculate that as a 21 minute walk. One way. fricking 20 minute commute by foot. What a damn disgrace.[/
Yesterday at 3:00 was directed off river road and to the southern end of levee lot and it was 1.4 mile walk to my gate my drive from the lot to Brightside was only 1 mile

Everybody, including myself, is complaining about the expense and inconvenience of going to Tiger Stadium to watch the Tigers.
But in a capitalist society, which I strongly support, nothing is going to change until it hits them in the pocket book.
All the bitching and moaning feels good but it is a complete waste of time.

thats BS, the lot is either free or pay, not in between. I'd be pissed if I paid then a free-bie car showed up next to me taking up space.
those were the dreamers. F King issued an executive order giving them 6 more months of free parking.

here's what i want - acceptable traffic
The traffic argument is crazy IMO. The infrastructure just wasn't designed for the volume of traffic. Nothing they can do about that. I get out there no later than 8am and I leave about 2 hours after the game. I never have a problem in or out. The rest, concessions, parking etc is completely within LSU's control.

I park an RV in Touchdown Village I. For several years now half of the spots go unused except for the two biggest games. I know people who would pay to park their RV for those games nobody attends but unless the owner puts those up for sale those parking spots go unused. I get capitalism - "I paid my money for that spot and I can do whatever I want." It has made TDV I a dead zone for all but the biggest games.
I Heard this weekend that at some SEC schools if you don't use your RV spot for two consecutive games you lose the spot. That is, unless someone has the parking pass scanned for two consecutive games you lose it.

I enjoyed the game in comfort on my big screen TV. Don't miss those 4 season tickets one little bit. Between the administration continuing to charge for anything and everything and the Les Miles coma inducing offense, saving that several thousand a year was one of the best decisions I've ever made.
Same here. There was a time I loved the live experience, but it is no longer worth the hassle and the school has priced itself out of the common man's market. There is a little piece of me that misses being there, but not with all the surcharges and hassles.

Oh and the 1975 tvs in the concourse still look amazing. Great hd quality.
Atari "Donkey Kong" tournaments are hosted in the stadium every Sunday. This is the reason they won't get rid of the TVs. Helps create a 70's vibe for the participants.

My exact experience. After 15 years of watching the game day, and in game, experience deteriorate, and get too expensive to justify, I did not renew my 4 tix, and will watch for free in my den. My memories of what LSU games once were to me and my family will have to suffice. The LSU admin is out of touch and WAY too greedy. They ruined an incredible tradition.
You think the game day experience has deteriorated over the last 15 years?? Those of us who were there in the late 60's and 70's really mourn how the game day experience has changed for the worse. I still remember walking around all the tailgates, then entering the stadium when you could actually smell the burgers and hotdogs cooking amongst other things. Back then there were folks walking the crowds selling sodas. Idiots tried to make it too much like the NFL and have succeeded in making the college game day experience almost extinct.
I'll settle for my home.

My other beef is that there is an inadequate amount of handicap parking. First of all, those of us of advanced age are normally the ones with the money for discretionate spending. Also, due to aging, we're the ones who have the chronic issues that don't allow us to walk a mile to TS from where we park. I have only once been able to get handicap parking, although I have the tags and legit documentation. One wonders what might happen if we decided to bring a class action suit against LSU over this to provide more handicap parking since more of us are getting up in age.
Then again, frick it. The memories of the good ole days will have to regretfully suffice and we will just enjoy the game from our homes. You know, with the money we would otherwise spend at LSU, we can build and furnish a pretty damned nice den, and we don't have to put our health at risk.

Damnedoldtigah.....I actually started going to games in 78...just finally got 4 decent season tix around 2000. No more. I am done. I will pick and choose the 1 or 2 games I go to each year and watch the rest at home with family Just not the same awesome, loud, affordable death valley. A shame.

My first game was in 68. I held four tickets from 82 until 2011. I could see the train coming and bailed out. If I pick up a game, I still feel the magic when I go into TS, but it's moreso my reflection on what the place used to be and not what it currently is.
I have to admit, the dog and I enjoyed the game from the den on a large screen, and for concessions had a B.J.'s Full House pizza. That worked out nicely. I took in the post-game on radio while I was out walking her last night. It worked.

Doesn't sound like you're too far behind me my friend. I have the money, but am selective as to what I spend it on these days. The one thing I don't have is extra time, so I am also selective on how that gets spent. My family is out on their own so those days are behind me. As for my time, if it isn't worth my while, it isn't getting my time.

This is more than likely the last year I ante up for my 8 season tickets, time to get a bigger TV and save some money. Hopefully more corporate sponsorship, and more empty seats that don't get used.

So how come no one starts up a fB page to blast admin and bring back the game day experience?
