I don't think it will be that packed, but tickets are still being bought regardless of price ...which I guess is my point. if they sold the tickets for $10, youd have incrementally more people buying...which is why maybe selling for $30 is still a good choice in terms of "raping" in the money

What's tulane's problem with the Zephyr's?
Ron Maestri's still employed by the Zephyrs. After the screwing he gave us after Katrina, until he's gone this game will never move back there. Zephyrs raised parking price for Tulane games $2 more than theirs (got all parking money), got all concession money, and charged rent from 3 hours before game time until the cleaning folks left plus charged an additional fee for every hour the lights were on. We couldn't use the locker rooms at all and were charged for pre-existing damages in dugouts.
Overall it was a bad deal but they knew Tulane had no option.

Damn. I didn't know it was that bad. That's pretty shitty.

That's not the point! They can't make money on their sad arse program, so they are going to rape tiger fans who they know will pay to see their team. Same shite they pulled in football - and look where it led. Screw-em.
I can't stand Tulane...but their intent is to rape their own fans...not just LSU fans. Typically, only a couple hundred LSU fans get seats to the games at Tulane.
It is the nature of collegiate sports. You have to make money wherever you can.

you mean broke a contract ???
To be fair, it was a sympathy contract that Bertman put together to help Tulane out. However, the rivalry was so far gone in football, that LSU had trouble getting its fans to show up in the numbers that make the game make sense. Tulane brought nothing to the table.
Tulane fans like yourself refuse to admit this. It is what it is.

What is a bar in the area that will be broadcasting the game?

Project, that's too many out of town games & LSU needs the ticket revenue to pay off the bonds for the new Box. Lots of SEC teams bitch bout our OC games being at home, but money talks & CPM has the leverage to make OC teams come here. Going on the road for an OC game is fine, but not every yr. We've been to Nicholls, SE, ULLLL, the weenies, even N.W. on occasion.

We play 3 mid week games away from the Box this year. What I propose would make that four. But hey, hosting Alcorn St is definitely better than giving our fans in Shreveport the opportunity to watch us play a quality opponent in their back yard.
ETA: We've played 4 mid week away games as recently as 2011. And three of those were in New Orleans. Why not spread that out to other parts of the state? Two neutral site games aren't going to make us default on our debt service.

I like you're idea honestly. I don't know what the profit/loss difference would be between a midweek home game and a midweek away game honestly. Some of these Tuesday games have so few fans in the stands (Yes, I understand season ticket holders still pay for their tickets when they don't go).

Where are you buying tix from? I looked at Prime Sport, their official online ticket seller and none are available.

i went through tulane's website. it redirected to ticketmaster i think.

maybe LSU shouldn't play Tulane at Tulane anymore unless they charge the same price as every other game?
UNO does the same. when LSU last visited in 2011, adults paid $15 and youth paid $10. for 14 games in 2013, season tickets are $50 for adults and $30 for youth

How is LSU supposed to demand another university to sell tickets at a certain price to the general public?
Posted on 3/26/13 at 2:36 pm to TexasTiger1185
by threatening to not play them there unless they do
Posted on 3/26/13 at 2:36 pm to bbap
Looks like only right field bleachers remain. Hardly seems worth the admission. Not to mention it will be cold as shite over there.

So threaten to destroy an instate rival so that tickets can be cheaper? I don't like that idea just pushing around other Universities.
