I 100% understand that our pitching staff was bare when Jay got here. I can’t say too much about them.

This shite is hard. It takes a mindset and it takes work. Both of which are imparted by the coaching staff and both of which are clearly lacking.
I never said they were “upset”. I said that the head coach shows every game that defense isn’t important by who he chooses to play. Why make working on defense a priority if it isn’t going to get you on the field?
Routine pksys like we botched tonite aren’t due to a lack of practice. You are excusing substandard play from guys who should do better. I don’t believe Thompson missed the ball because he didn’t like the third baseman.

It’s obvious that these guys aren’t being held to a higher standard. Something isn’t right. There’s no way LSU doesn’t have guys who can make routine plays on defense.
As for the pitching, when you don’t have confidence in your defense, you can’t pound the zone. You can’t pound the zone you can’t get ahead in the count.
When pitchers have confidence in the guys behind them, it’s amazing how many strikes they can throw.
