The fact the sec made lsu travel in that weather is criminal
LSU could have hosted the game instead
Thankfully he was ok

do we send a bus all the way up there just to take players from the airport to the hotel and arena?

Should've taken I-49 toTexarkana, then I-30 towards Little Rock, then I-40 west to the turn to Fayetville. Longer distance-wise, but considering the weather & road conditions, he would have made it safely. He must've just Googled the directions, and took one of the shorter routes.

Brakes fine, traction not so much.

The bus also carries equipment and luggage that may not fit on the plane if it is a small charter.

One of the worst feelings in the world. In a 40k lb vehicle, touch the breaks and nothing happens.

Yes. It depends on the sport but for the "major" sports LSU will deadhead bus(es). They do this for a variety of reasons.
- Gives the team the ability to transport additional equipment vs. as cargo (added fuel cost) for the charter flight.
- They have a relationship with the driver/company that gives the teams flexibility in transport times & schedules. This also adds in the trust factor that they'll be available and ready.
- Provides flexibility to LSU in the event there are flight issues and they can bus to another airport or back to BR.
