I can't wrap my head around Brown and Larson both on the bench for Frey and Pearson. I like both Frey and Pearson, but what does Larson have to do to stay in the lineup? You can't have a better game than he did on Sunday.
It's early in the season midweek against a laughable opponent and Jay is giving guys in contention opportunities, nothing really else about it. If it's 8-1 in the 6th inning he's probably subbing in Larson and Brown at some point thereafter.
There's also a mid-week game tomorrow @ Nicholls. It's a busy week

Also surprised by no Larson.
Southern starting a LHP, and Jay is playing the matchup
Edit: I see that Josh is playing, so my thought process doesn't work here

As far as Pearson, I guess I’d rather see him get midweek starts over weekends. I like the guy and he’s had some big moments for LSU, but Brown and Larson clearly are just better.
This is Pearson's 3rd start in 4 games. Larson has only started once (Sunday). Brown has started twice (Friday & Sunday).
I dont' understand it.

better be careful with larson
would hate to lose him in portal
pearson is a sr and frey continues to show he's not reliable

Jay says Pearson handles lefties better than the other 2 and Frey is RH. That and it being early in the season with an open RF/DH competition is the reason. Not sure why some people are so upset about it after 3 games.

Because some people need to have something to complain about in order to be happy.

Pearson has 9 PA
Brown has 9 PA
Larson has 7 PA
Frey has 4 PA
He's spreading around opportunities early on, again wouldn't surprise me to see Brown and Larson sub in later this game or just start tomorrow.

He's just struggled a bit leading up to the season start and didnt have a great last weekend either. Not saying he's slumping or anything but he's not hitting to his capability the last few weeks.

Is there any way we can lose you to the portal? TexAgs would be a great landing spot for you.

Why are we begrudging a Pearson start against Southern on a Tuesday at 2 pm at The Box?
It is meaningless except that it gives the vet a couple more rips.

Did Josh Pearson start batting right handed?

My only rationale is that Jay feels JP hits lefties better than the other two. I have never seen the splits to argue against it.
I really believe JP got the opening day start based more on seniority than anything else. I'm not jumping to any conclusions in these early games against all these bottom feeders. I think we'll get a better feel for what JJ is thinking in the Frisco Classic.

Dude you’re a frickin idiot if anything ‘surprises’ you at this point
He’s going to tinker with the starting lineups/rotations all year. If you think you, or anyone here on TD can read JJ’s mind well then I don’t really know what to tell you
And FFS, stop saying ‘welp….’ It makes you sound really feminine
Big guy here is angry. Lol....or does that offend you as well?

One game doesn’t win you a job. Larson will continue to get his shots just like Frey, Brown and Pearson will keep getting their shots.
At some point some one will take over the DH and RF. But it won’t be after 3 games.

?????? welp what?
Just trying to illustrate you never know w JJ. Sorta seemed like Ware was looked at as more closer-type than starter.
Didnt realize that word ruffled so many feathers. Another guy was basically crying and called me feminine (ironic)......I've never thought that word was associated like that. But Im not retarded either. So who knows
Just surprised at Ware's first role, not his ability

No, but perhaps out of the 3 LH options he is the one who hits lefties the best. It's almost as if JJ has more information, and is better equipped at making decisions than your cry baby arse.
