Too many questions remain. The first 3 are:
1. Is Kelly able to take LSU and win a season opener?
2. Is kelly able to finish a season as a top 25 ranked team?
3. Is he able to have a winning record vs top 25 ranked opponents by the end of a season?

This is silly. Show me a roster in NCAA right now that's dominating like past NC team rosters.
You can't. Oregon is maybe the only one but even that's questionable. There's too much parity in the sport now. Nobody can hold depth to maintain clearly dominant rosters like Saban and Kirby were able to do.
Until this era changes drastically you're not going to see another team like LSU had in 2019. LSU has as good a chance as anyone to win it next year with the talent they have coming back and from recruiting/portal. They also had a really good recruiting class year.

Had you followed your post title up with 'In baseball!' - I'd give you a 'Hell yeah'. For football, I'll just remain guardedly optimistic.

I’m happy to start with actually making the playoffs

As good as the 2019 Offense was, the Defense overachieved big time.
That defense had a lot of NFL talent

Nuss will be a Heisman finalist.
Based on what?
Idk him being #2 in heisman odds going into the season as of now behind only Arch
Him putting up record numbers here for a first year starter
The only way lsu competes for a title next year is if he is a heisman contender.

I think we will absolutely come into the season ranked in top 10.

How bout we start with just winning a season opener

Agree on this. Getting A&M, Florida and SC at home is huge. We also play better against Bama away compared to at home for whatever reason, so we have a favorable slate if we can get past the first game.

Better have a Jacob Hester work ethic !

10-2 and a home playoff game is the only seriously obtainable goal.

Exactly. Just win the first F ing game for once.

One small problem. You have first make the 12 team playoff. No place at that table.

hit the brakes.....slow down.

All of the transfer recruits and Nussmeier returning looks good on paper, but the unfortunate truth is that the opposite could easily happen. I’m holding my breath until Kelly can actually win a Week 1 game.
