Curious if Nikki has a short leash this year.

Rumors around Alleva hasn't been happy with her lately

her recruiting class this year isn't ranked in the top 50 as of now

Tulane has a veteran NBA coach. I would expect them to be well coached if nothing else.

Sounds like the defense still needs A LOT of work. Not going to win many games where the opponent shoots 50% and scores 84

LSU is going struggle defending the paint all season. They just don't have the bodies yet. Combs likely would have been a big help there.

If this LSU team is going to be willing to settle for a bunch of 3's, they are going to have a lot of tough nights. Especially on the road. This team just doesn't have many shooters. That showed up tonight.

Exhibition games can be a great learning experience. The result doesn't matter as long as you can use the experience to get better

This look like a woman who gives a shite? I'd say the leash is extremely short.

Its sad, I really thought she would do well here

She can coach but boy she has to be one of the worst recruiters ever.

hell Van was constantly hauling in top talent, just didn't know how to mold and develop it

She used to be kind of cute. Now she looks like a fat tub.

Bad game, flat out, missing 3 players really hurt but we should be beating Tulane, no question. Lucky this game doesnt count. Gotta come out next Friday and dominate an outmatched Alcorn St.

no one will remember tonight in 3 weeks. this game is no indication on how this season goes

Probably a good result for this squad. Reminds guys like Sampson, Sims, Mays, etc that they've got a ways to go after an offseason full of goodwill. The three point shooting is a bit concerning, but hopefully it isn't the norm.

That pic doesn't look her so much you had me Googling "Nikki Vargas pics" until I found that one on her LSU bio page...

She's always used a hair-straightener in previous years.

A bit concerning? When you have a three guard and sometimes no doubt four guard rotation, not being able to shoot a three is like cutting your own throat. I certainly hope this is just an early season aberration and it will be much better later on.
This is one of the things that killed us last year. Wade then came out and said we could shoot three's and that wasn't going to be our problem? So they can make them in practice but then choke in games?

Wade has been speaking highly of their shooting. Just gonna wait and see and not lose it over an exhibition loss

Hoping that it was “first game” jitters but 4/24 isn’t going to cut it obviously

Is Tulane a Nike school? The basketballs can have variations of grip and feel depending on the brand. That might have played a role.

Nothing better for a team than a loss that doesn’t count.

You're smokin rope. She can do neither and is in way over her head. (Where have we heard that before)

Should've been released 2-3 years ago, but is still around because of agenda driven Grand MA Alleva..........

All around effort and defensive intensity are much improved. There were still some mistakes made on defending ball screens, but improved. If Tulane shoots the ball as well as they did last night, they will win a lot of games. We shot the ball very poorly. It is hard to win when the other team's shooting percentage is around 20% higher than yours.
