I didn't think it would be this bad.

The Iowa st team that beat us in the first round last year after Woodward cut the program off at the knees had ZERO players 10 months before when the coach took over. I'd say he handled it no problem.
Also, if Wade inherited what McMahon inherited, people are bat blank crazy if they don't think the general would have us at least in the nit, with a shot at the big dance.

…he should have recruited some players from the quad, at least some of them can shoot a basketball from outside 5 ft…the ones he has now can barely make a layup..

quote:Sorry that you can't see how Days could have benefited from a different coach that would have centered the offense around him, and not just 3 point shots. The fact that you drag on and on about this is pretty pathetic.
From the absolute moron that thinks Darius days would’ve been better off transferring last year instead of staying at lsu

Bottom line is if you want to win in the SEC, you have to have SEC caliber players. Even the greatest coach in history can’t win without players.

Yes and it was expected

Also, I am not seeing a cloud of violations. You know, if you want an honest comparison.

You don’t get time in the age of transfer portal and NIL. There is no roster building, it is rebuilding your team every year.

This might be some of the worst coaching we’ve seen at LSU in quite some time. And we had Johnny Jones and Trent Johnson

I think we should be kind and cut the guy some slack. He has to be in absolute shock and traumatized. He will learn that playing and coaching in the SEC is a lot different from where he came from.
He probably thinks that basketball is still a non-contact gentlemen's game where a coach maintains a sense of dignity. Now that he has seen Bruce Pearl flip off a student section and threaten to beat their fricking asses, he has a learning curve to get past. Or Nate Oates telling the opposition to GTF outta here. And John Calipari and his incessant whining and sniveling to the officials.
Culture shock. He'll rebound.
And you have to admit that he has been a lot more animated on the sidelines lately.

Can you go to a portal and completely start over?...I would like to just play Ward...Why are we wasting time playing KJ...It doesn't matter his collegiate career is over...We really don't have a point guard...It's just bad and they should beat SC who is worse than us..

He signed a top 20 class this year which has produced nothing

Losing to SC by double digits should be fire able

LSU has not led in this game at home against a 2-11 SEC team.

quote:Agree 100%. But to tell you the truth as absolutely, hopelessly bad as this team is and as bad as his coaching and recruiting are so far I think he deserves an even shorter leash- 3 years of this crap is too long. I cannot believe he has a fricking 8 year deal. Woodward definitely screwed the pooch on this one no doubt.
but wasn’t this foreseeable? No one expected it to be this bad. No one. I don't think anyone thought we'd be competing for the conference title or anything, most thought middle of the pack, or if we'd be below that we'd be at least competitive in most games and just fall short in a lot of them. No one thought this was a dead last in the conference team or a team that would look uncompetitive in as many games as we have. He's going to get 3 years imo. I'm resigned to that. I would love to see him turn it around but quote: (pending recruits) doesn't inspire any confidence. And quote: He was a decent coach at Murray St Murray St has had a lot of coaches succeed there, they're the premier program of the Ohio Valley. Most of them haven't panned out when they took on bigger jobs. This was one of my fears when he was first hired. He's getting 2 more years whether any of us like it or not with his contract. I 100% hope he rights the ship in that time because I want our team to win and be fun to follow. I haven't seen any signs that inspire confidence in that regard though.
