Same ole Beth’s team. They can’t hit and will not be good as long as she is there.

Looks like Franklin will be our best hitter this year. She's the only one that looks comfortable at the plate. The rest of the team looks like they would rather be sitting on the bench or out on the field.

Was watching the basketball team. I'm here now, though.

So you admittedly don't watch, yet feel the need to proclaim who the best hitter is and know who looks uncomfortable?

Last year's team had the 3rd highest batting average and scored the 3rd most runs in the history of the program. But continue talking out of your arse if it makes you feel better

They RUN RULED Illinois (a terrible team 0 - 5) but Illinois out hit them 7 - 5. You won't win games like that in the SEC.

Franklin, Daniels, Hutchins, seem like the only ones that really are seeing the ball at the plate. Edwards looks like she might be getting back her groove.

As for pitching? Looks like we will have to rely on Heavener and Clompton. Neither are really dominant, so the hitting will have to come around.

This weekend will show us a lot.

Well it is a damned good thing Illinois isn't in the SEC, right?

These are the most asinine takes. It assumes the team will play the next 50 games the same exact way they played the first 6, with zero improvement or progression.

No, I wish they were in the SEC. We would have 3 automatic wins. They are terrible.

They were out hit in 3 of the 6 games against bad teams (Nevada is an OK team). It wasn't just one game.

Yeah, they might improve some, but so will the teams they play, so that's a wash.

Just moved to BR and found this board, first post so don’t roast me but I thought the idea was to build as you go through the yr? Hasn’t the criticism of the softball teams been that they start fast and fade? Just maybe they will build through the yr and be their best when it matters most which is March, April and May right?

Welcome. I hope you stay. It will be a wild ride.

Again, that is the goal for ALL teams, not just LSU. Do you think other teams will just stay the same, but only LSU will improve throughout the year?

Yes.

I've seen the Pitchers. Pitchers don't really "improve" that much unless they learn a whole different pitch during the year. They will not go from throwing 63 to throwing 73 during a season.

As for hitting, that will come and go throughout the season. I just don't think we have the hitters that will be that consistent throughout the season.

Hitters might get a little better, but when they reach the SEC the pitching will be a WHOLE lot better, so that's the problem with hitting improving as the season progresses.

My ONLY hope with the hitting is that these pitchers they faced this past weekend were so slow and combined that with throwing a lot of change ups that the hitters timing was way off and when they face pitchers that throw in the 70 range, the timing will be better.

I have more confidence in Bryce getting the hitting better than Torina getting the Pitching better.

The best advice you will get is to pay zero attention to anything TigerDCC says. He will repeat the same stuff in every single thread game after game. He even admits he wasn't watching the game yet he knows who can hit and who cant, who can pitch and who can't, and he knows the SEC record.

He got all of this on opening weekend of the season. He's a complete and total moron.

And be correct each time.

Again, and be correct each time.

Actually, I PREDICTED the SEC record before the season started. And, you might be right, I think I gave them too many wins at 11. I should have stated 9 - 15 in the SEC.

I asked for your SEC prediction, but you refused. I guess you will wait until the SEC season is over and proclaim how your were right.
