Serna is special. My kid played a couple age groups behind him, we were walking by a field he was playing on, he hit a ball that may have joined the satellites. He was prob 14? This ball went every bit of 400 feet. I think they were swinging bbcor as well. He gets your attention.

The fastest in the NCAA is 119.5 mph
I thought his plate approach was very mature for a freshman. He looks polished already.
Lot's of upside it would seem.

if serna was doing a bat bros video, he would say off the hands just a bit.

Feel like Arrambide absolutely smoked every ball he made contact with this weekend. We got some hitters.

You never watched Jared Jones bat before?

He already looks like a big leaguer. He'll be at LSU for three years, too.

Is that a typo?

BBCOR bats are getting hotter every year but that’s still incredibly hot.
Yup. We start seeing too many exit velos in that range, they will scale the bats back once again.

Mother of god that's some crazy exit speed for someone that young. Hell, it's crazy for a 27-year-old in their prime. This guy is going to kill people this season. Defenses better pucker up.

118 is pretty damn impressive.

That dude is put together, most year 1 guys at that weight look nothing like Serna.

Surprised yorke isn't on the list. His bat was smoking.

John Pearson takes some mean hacks too

No wonder LSU coaches are 50 feet behind the coaching boxes down the lines.

can you see a baseball at 118 mph?
Posted on 2/16/26 at 3:30 pm to lsu2006
Gonna be such a luxury if he can hold his own behind the plate once per weekend. Keeping him and and Arrambide fresh throughout the year should really help them both offensively. You could see how big of a difference it made last year for Hernandez's bat once Arrambide started catching on saturdays

Incredible! They didn’t have the technology for that in the 90’s, but that’s Frank Thomas level hitting!

You really have to be on your game to see it.

I think we are going to have no trouble with the long ball looking at our team.

remember hunter pence?… he hit baseballs so hard… third basemen always played deep, off the dirt/plexi-grass/grass infield… and every single time he made contact, everybody could hear it… seems like half the time, the baseball was already through the infield before the bat finished swinging…
