I agree. He was ALLOWED to fail. it’s hard to be hungry when the HC and the rest of the team isn’t hungry

TOTALLY different world we live in today. Horrible comparison.
Why? Did development change or is it just perception? What if Nuss were a financial advisor at his current age? Would he be a "kid" above criticism if he were losing his client's fortunes?

The funniest part about babying Nuss is how many doing it are ripping freshman O lineman to excuse 5th yr senior Nuss.

No sir … these are no longer college kid athletes that love the school they are committed to ( old days are gone) These are semi pro paid players that are under contract. Kid gloves are off and anything can be said about them…good or bad.

Whatever, I get it, a lot of people don’t like Nuss, but it doesn’t have to cloud your rational thinking. No one with a brain would burned their redshirt for that game.

I was preparing to got to war halfway across the globe at his age. No sympathy for this “kid”
Posted on 11/9/25 at 6:31 pm to AMac
Why are they kids when they are in a program of this caliber?
When I was 22 the world was shitting on me and calling me a loser while I was driving forklift. Maybe if he was a freshman or sophomore. He’s a grown man.

Coddling of children is bad enough in our society. Now we are coddling 23-year-old millionaires. This is embarrassing.

He never plants his feet properly, has often times left a solid pocket for no reason, consistently scrambles with no natural instinct to move away from the pressure, misses seeing open receivers because he is too concerned with the pressure, and has missed receivers under no pressure as he looking in another direction which points to a lack of preparation in knowing where his opportunities are going to be.
Do you think the happy feet and feeling ghost pressure has anything to do with being savaged on a weekly basis? Or his preparation (or lack thereof) having to do with coaching? Or is it all on him?

Perhaps these deals for payment need to have performance markers to make the full amount [or to make a bonus]. Its the cash the check and don't work as hard as Burrow did in the off season before Senior Year that really sucks.

Dang, well I guess Joe Burrow and Jayden Daniels had highly advanced brain development for their age when they were at LSU.

Precisely. Interestingly, that’s how the NIL collective works for the LSU golf team. The players that play in the tournaments via internal qualifying get bonuses from the pool, and the players that have the highest finishes earn the greatest share of the pool.
There should be a flat pay rate for all football players from the revenue share, or by position, along with a structure for bonuses based on positions and metrics. Now, for example, some may think it would be unfair to a QB who has no O Line, but that’s the deal with being part of a team sport.

He’s not a failure in life. He’ll be fine. He’s got tons of money. He did however fail LSU. That’s just the reality. It’s not like it’s an easy thing to be a quarterback for a top school. So I get it. But he failed.

As soon as I saw he got engaged during the offseason I was like oh no! Pussy is undefeated.
Posted on 11/9/25 at 8:54 pm to AMac
He did not do the job he was paid to do. Hopefully at this point, he is fired.

The, "he's just a kid", "I feel bad for him", "He feels like a failure" crowd need to get back to day time soaps.
The youth, feelings, poor guy sentiments all DIED a very VIOLENT death at the hands of GREEDY kids and lawyers through NIL and the Transfer Portal.
As soon as the money and checks started the sympathy disappeared. They wanted to get paid, fine, they turned this into a transactional situation, ok, now you live with the consequences. You cannot play both sides and have it both ways.
If you want to be paid, like a man, then you have to take the criticism that comes with that responsibility. Soft people mealy mouthing this issue are the reason why there is any confusion. This is BLACK & WHITE.
Perhaps sports and situations where achievement and merit are concerned are areas where you should just keep your comments to yourself. You don't have to swing at every pitch.

Yup and this why everyone hates our fan base. And I don’t blame

Only by his actions. He is a crybaby that gets up limping. His injury is more in his head than anywhere else. I hope he is either Mr. Irrelevant or UFA. He certainly doesn't deserve all of that NIL money
He will be 24 in February.
He's somebody's kid but he isn't still a kid. He is engaged to get married. He's not a kid.
Nice try though.

I agree. Perhaps having a daughter exactly his age makes me see the other side of it.
If he took the giant NIL deal, failed to prepare, and just expected success then as an athlete he has earned every bit of criticism he’s getting.
That said, 23 year olds sometimes realize too late the impact of bad decisions and have to resolve their failures to themselves.
I’ve had to separate numerous Airmen that age due to drugs or various failures in performance or development, and as each career ended, there was regret from them no matter how much they earned it. They knew they screwed up, but they figured it out too late.
When a career you’ve worked for ends, it’s crushing. Especially if your actions or performance caused it. That’s what he’s dealing with.
He’s earned the criticism and I think MVB should start from here on, but I do empathize with Nuss.
