would the NCAA allow for a "Covid Exception" to him counting against the 25 since it was a weird year and he is returning to the program he left?
That’s your decision right there. If they give a waiver, then we get a guy with talent back to help with our numbers situation. If they won’t, then he’s going to have to stay at TCU or find a home somewhere in the G5.

The whole OL should come back.
Deculus has no shot in the pros. His playing days are over after he leaves LSU hopefully with a good degreee.
Ingram would be like a 5-7 round guy. Very unlikely to stick just like Charles.
Rosenthal ain’t ready for the NFL
Liam also has no shot at the NFL

Why would Brooks count towards the 25? Did he enter the portal? Sorry, but it has been crazy trying to keep up with everything this year.
This is kind of a gray area in the rules. There is an exception for JUCO that if a guy returns to your program, he doesn’t count against you again. However, it is clearly defined as 2 year schools, so the NCAA would have to grant an exception. But they have been pretty lenient this year due to COVID, so it’s worth a shot.

I definitely agree that if he’s not counted against the 25 it’s a no brainer. His floor is being an ace special teams player and pass rush specialist.

I think Ingram’s draft stock is higher than some think. I don’t think he comes back

The way our o-line performed this year it would be a VERY BAD idea for them to leave and not take advantage of the opportunity to improve their stock. Cuz they aint getting drafted

Ingram and Deculus will both get drafted

a poster on here is good friends with him from high school and confirmed that there is smoke to Brooks potentially coming back
Oh frick yes. If our new defensive coordinator is worth half a frick, we’ll be lights out on D next year

I don't think he's well-suited to be a tackle. I think he would look a lot better as an interior guy.

Ya think? They guy had ONE great game (vs. MSU) and everyone on here anointed him a first round pick. Since that time he has been good for maybe one good play here or there, but certainly not consistently good enough to be a high draft pick.

Why are we (what feels like) the only school who has to accept that guys who are 4th, 5th, 6th, 7th rounders or UDFAs that can’t improve their stock are just gonna leave early?
You think Cox is a 4th, 5th, 6th or 7th rounder???
He is at worst an early 2nd round pick and with his skill set could sneak into the first round.
He’s played CFB for 4 or 5 years now. Why would he stay
He’s shown this year that he can hold his own in the SEC. he has nothing left to prove in college.
He should go get paid and no one should question it.

-I saw the thread earlier about Cox could be returning, but I believe his stock is pretty high already
If we're talking draft stock, every player on this LSU defense could benefit from another year. This year's defensive performance did not help anyone's draft stock. That's for damn sure.

Nobody returns, everybody declares O is too incompetent to play for.
Some transfer
Some declare for draft
Some pick up rugby or Aussie Rules

Hasn’t Ingram been suspended for a few games in the past? Not sure he’ll wanna come back.

If you give out 350-1 on all of those I may put down 10 on all.

Cox i see leaving but if he comes back he could move up to an early 2nd type of player
McShay has him at No. 34 overall right now.

I wasn't talking about Cox specifically but about all the juniors that leave us annually to go on to be middle round picks or below. Just from last year: Jacob Phillips, Thad Moss, and Saddiq Charles all left to be 4th round or lower picks. Those guys all would have helped us a ton this year.
As for Cox, I don't think he is the guaranteed 2nd rounder that you are portraying him to be. I also don't think I'd blame him if he left since his situation is unique.

The 3 guys you picked don't help your case. All 3 are on NFL rosters, and while Charles was a 4th rounder, Phillips was a 3rd rounder. Moss was different because of all the rehabilitation he had to do just to get on the field that one season, and he is on IR right now. Coming back wouldn't have helped him or the team at all since we had Gilbert for most of the season.

That's not the point. Etienne at Clemson, Najee Harris, Alex Leatherwood, Devonta Smith, and others at Bama would all be on NFL rosters this year but they came back to compete for a natty and to improve their draft stock.
Sure some guys could leave early and make an NFL roster but why do other schools convince their kids to come back and work on their craft while our guys leave?
The one year we convinced a few guys to return for their senior year we field the greatest team in college football history. Do you think that Rashard Lawrence and Kristian Fulton wouldn't have been NFL guys had they left early?
The point is that we are the only school that consistently throws up our hands and says "well he'll make a roster as a 5th rounder so he should go pro."

Ingram will, but if he stayed and showed much better consistent effort game to game he would be drafted higher in 2022. Deculus is not an NFL tackle and does not have the power to play guard, where is he getting drafted?
