My question is did Hughes lose weight this summer so that he can at least hit his damn weight this season. If he is the starting SS all year this team has NO SHOT at Omaha.

I damn sure hope this isn't the batting order you posted.

You see a lot of teams setting their batting order by position?

I don’t know why everyone gets pissed about rightful criticism of the baseball team. I didn’t call his mom a whore. They just couldn’t hit their way out of a wet paper bag last year. None of us are there to know how development went. We can only speculate based on what is seen and personally fall doesn’t make me that excited. The actual season last year with some pretty pathetic at bats were there for everyone to see

I hope they learn to hit more consistently especially Hughes because he is great with the glove.

Former LSU commit Connor Phillips has been rated as the number 1 JUCO prospect by Perfect Game. He will pitch for McLennan JC this season. He chose the JUCO route instead of coming to LSU to maintain his draft eligibility.

In that same ranking, current LSU commit Beck Way, of Northwest Florida State, is ranked 3rd.

Bianco also hit 12/40, .300, in fall ball. Much fewer K's than last year as well.

It's almost as if players can develop over time, and might even be feeling the effects of having a new hitting coach.

But no, if they didn't hit last year, they surely won't this year.

You’re being hopeful based on fall stats. I’m simply saying they couldn’t hit last year. Get the panties out of a wad.

I'm referencing more recent data.

Fine. They couldn't hit last year. No one ever improves.

The Advocate's facebook page will be showing it I believe. Sometimes LSU will broadcast it via twitter.

Bianco at DH ? The guy who hit .176 ?

He has one of the sweetest swings on the team.

Potential All-SEC...this year.

The fact that some of you call yourselves Tiger "fans", then continue to shite on this kid is kinda sickening, to be honest.

1) I give 0 fricks about baseball. It is so boring, its unwatchable until the post season

2) Hughes is trash. He should not be playing for LSU.

Its like no one remembers Andrew Stevenson. Dude went from batting like .150 as a freshman to hitting like .385 as a sophomore.

He is the reason that I will never count a guy out until I see him in the current season.

He isn't the only guy like this either. Kramer struggled for 2 years before turning into a .300 hitter. Deichman also had issues his freshman year before turning into a consistent bat. Jacoby Jones as well.

Manieri just said he is moving Dugas back to 2B to create competition between he and Doughty. I think he will have the edge to start and Doughty will be the RH DH.
