Not sure why this is coming down on Woodward. He's cleaning up the shitshow Aleva left. People would have been ticked, but Wade should have been fired three years ago. Although, I'm glad he wasn't because I would much rather Woodward picking a new coach than Aleva.

I was a Wade supporter but there’s no shot he was going to survive this, especially when LSU can fire him with cause and now say everyone involved in any cheating is gone.

It's too early to give him a fair evaluation, much less reevaluate. Covid threw a monkey wrench into an entire year. Mulkey is the only hire we can somewhat evaluate, and even that would be unfair, considering she hasn't even finished her first season, but by all accounts, she has indeed been a splash from day one.
The others are too early to determine. Johnson is coaching his fourth weekend series as head baseball coach. Kelly has yet to coach his first game, much less go through a spring practice.
It's certainly apparent that Scott is drastically changing the LSU athletic department. We'll see what happens. I am optimistic.
ETA: I've always liked Wade, and defended him, but I completely understand the firing.

Woodward does what any AD with a pulse could do. Find a proven coach and throw huge amounts of money at them. This board loves him so he is the greatest. I don’t think there’s really anything special about the guy.
Find an AD who can see an up and coming talent and hire them.

Have you read the NOA? Wade supposedly:
(1) Paid someone to recruit for him --- out of his spouse's account
(2) Paid someone not to report his cheating
(3) Made a damn strong offer that was not a scholarship
You are the AD when the NOA is made public. What do you do? Keep him employed during the highest profile time for basketball during the year? Or just get rid of him when you know you have to do that anyway? Woodward made the only choice that WW allowed.

I wasn’t a Woodward fan at first... the Jimbo hire at tam for that amount of money is ridiculous. He’s impressed me with his process and evaluation in his hiring process.

18-15, 25-5, 21-10, 19-10, 22-11. Obviously he sucked that bad. Went to post season every year except the COVID cancelation year but was poised to be in tournament. Glad we got rid of a coach who makes the post season on a regular basis.

How hard is it for Woodward to hire these coaches when you have an open checkbook? We’ll most likely get a good basketball coach because Woodward will pay more than anyone in the country is. Shame Wade wasn’t smarter like all these other coaches, since he was the best coach in bb we have had in a long time.
