They don't put two SEC schools in the same regional.

Did you see their overall record? It's a joke. It's nothing but the committee kissing the PAC-12's arse one last time.

Its more likely that oregon st is the 16 seed, moreso than arizona.Clearly rpi isnt everything to the committee anymore

The final D1 projections have us going to Clemson, and paired with the NC State regional.

We’re getting to Omaha in that scenario, I’m confident

My 2 favorite teams are LSU and OU (other than McNeese of course).
Red hat and purple shirt, or purple hat and red shirt?

Possibly. But I wouldn't say "more likely". OSU is ahead of Arizona in most metrics. Overall wins, RPI, KPI, wins away from home, Q1 wins, etc. I think the committee wanted one more west coast site and shoehorned Arizona in to make it happen. But they will likely make Arizona the 16 seed because of it.
2022 was the first time in over 20+ years LSU didn't go far out west in a year they weren't hosting. We will find out today if that was an anomaly, or the beginning of a trend. If the former, I can't see the committee matching LSU up with Oregon St...again. That would leave UC-Santa Barbra and Arizona. If the argument is LSU is one of the "stronger" 2 seeds, then paring them with one of the weaker (perhaps the weakest) 1 seeds in Arizona makes sense.

I think lsu going out west is only a trend because east coast baseball is usually strong enough to garner their own regionals and 2 seeds. So they dont need lsu out there. Because of geography, lsu usually makes sense either going west or to a site in mississippi or texas. Just depends who is hosting

They had other options to do that, especially San Diego at #19 in the RPI and owner of a series victory over Arizona. KPI didn’t like San Diego much, but it didn’t have any West Coast teams high. Oregon St was the highest at #26. They clearly threw out RPI and KPI when considering the West Coast teams with Oregon St at #26, Arizona at #30, and UCSB at #36 in the KPI all hosting. Arizona’s conference titles obviously meant a lot to them.

UCLA hosted as the Pac 12 champ one year with an RPI in the 30s. The committee gives the West Coast teams some RPI leeway because the formula doesn't do them any favors sometimes.

There just aren’t enough teams out there and geography makes inter-regional scheduling difficult.
It’s one thing that may actually even out a little bit with west coast teams moving to eastern conferences. But I still don’t like realignment.

And also that all the teams there are basically in only 4 conferences.

What time is the selection show today, I can’t find it?

From a pure data standpoint you could make the argument NONE of the west coast teams should be hosting except maybe UC Santa Barbra). But, with geography carrying weight in the selection process (unlike in the basketball tournament), the NCAA is always going to have a few west coast sites.
I agree with you that San Diego has a better RPI and overall record than Arizona. But I think the committee would say the reason Arizona is a host and not San Diego is because Arizona has the #31 SOS and #1 NC SOS. Compare that to San Diego which has the #90 SOS and #8 NC SOS. That said, I think they balance out Arizona being a host site (where they really shouldn't be) by "penalizing: them with the No. 16 seed.
Ironically, naming Arizona as a host site might force the NCAA to include Florida in the tournament...which is a complete joke at 28-27. But it's hard to justify Arizona being top 16 seed and Florida being left out completely when most of the objective/predicative data favors Florida. That's the predicament you run into when you force (to some degree) geography to override merit.
