I'm just using that as an example that not everyone on the team hated him.

I am sure David Grewe was a likable guy and a heck of a recruiter but he wasn't guy Lsu needed.

Lsu recruits itself to some extent!

We, need sombody who can develope some of this pitching talent we have in Gausman, Eades, McCune, Rumbelow etc.

Gausman, Eades and McCune all had good years for freshman, but could you imagine their celling with a really good pitching coach, as well as maybe we can finally develope a bullpen!

I'm sure grewe would have been really motivated to hit the road recruiting for a school he wouldn't be at in a few weeks. PM should have waited!

Great move, now it's Javi's turn. As a hitting coach he's laughable, just look at our team hitting and as a third base coach don't even get me started. PM was able to "nut up" with the Grewe situation now he's got to do the same with Sanchez. His loyalty will eventually cost him his job.

Javi has been the one that has been out on the recruiting trail the past couple of weeks, not Grewe.

I don't think that Javi will be going anywhere!

But, we can hope!

Bull Shite. Ask Les Miles if Frank Wilson doesn't make a difference with recruiting.

First off my main problem with Grewe was not recruiting. It was developing pitchers and how he called games that pissed me off.

But the question I ask now.. How good was Grewe as a recruiter? The experts say we had the #1 recruiting class in the country the last two years. Yet we can not find a damn pitcher to come out of the bullpen and eat up innings or close a game. Grewe got Gausmann and McCune and for that But other than that I do not see another pitcher with MLB talent he has brought in(that is still here).

Secondly Javi should be the next to go. Our hitting has sucked the last 2 years.

Advocate reporting he resigned to pursue other opportunities
Grewe resigns

I always thought it was hinky that a head coach would take an assistant coaching position after head coach for 3 years...

Yeah, I'd say the advocated article with all those quotes from Grewe is just saving face

Doesn't need to be 1 day but it better be soon. PM needs good assistants and the lack of good assistants is helping to bring this team down. I think he knows this and will do what it takes. If not maybe I'm over estimating him and it will eventually lead to his downfall. NC or no NC the athletic department and the rest of the administration will only put up with mediocrity for so long. The financial drain from not hosting regionals, let alone not making regionals, is not going to sit well for long. While we may have won a NC, been to the CWS and another regional we've also missed Hoover 2 of PM's 5 years. Some people may feel that the tournament doesn't mean anything but the selection comittee obviously thinks it does. Mediocrity may not have set in just yet, but I'm afraid to say that we may be heading in that direction.

I think LSU knows a pitcher who played here, and in the majors. We see him from time to time on tv. Have no idea if he can coach though.

(Hint: His brother is Ronald McDonald)
