Wow. They didn't even give him a chance to recruit his own players.

I don't even want to know how the Vandy scholarship works. I know when my daughter was going through the process we went on a series of visits to Vandy. Vandy has something that call need base funds for all students, so they gave us a pamphlet that valued the cost of a year at about 34K dollars and then they asked of yearly income. The counselor threw some numbers into the machine and informed us that if she got in (She didn't) that we would be expected to come up with 5K. That 34K included travel expenses, entertainment and dining expenses which they had built in.

All coaches do what Goff was trying to do.
Bama just saw an escape plan with a new AD who wants to bring in his guy.
My guess is the first call is to Arizona coach.

Bingo. Goff could even argue that he didn't know about the rule (didn't apply at Tech), right the wrong with the affected players, issue an apology, and move on.

Shiny new stadium requires a shiny new coach.

Goff signed a five-year deal worth $450,000 per year on June 17 after being hired last summer. It ran through the 2021 season.

So do they have to pay it out? Is his firing "with cause" if he hasn't actually pulled the schollys, just talked about it?

That must have been some time ago, tuition alone now is 44K, plus room/board is more than 60K. My wife's co-worker just graduated one from there, and is now considerably richer

They should have gone after Casey Dunn in the first place.

Alan Dunn is in his 50's with zero head coaching experience, right? Seems like a pretty huge gamble for just dropping 40 million on your baseball stadium

Also I get the impression Dunn likes Baton Rouge and just being a pitching coach. However he and maineri always seem to be getting into some heated conversation when shown on tv

I heard that the AD told him he couldn't do it and he still tried to anyway.

Didn't Goff's daughter sign with LSU softball this year?

Apparently the players thought he was mean and went to discuss it with the AD. Guess they won out

There's a ton more to it than that. He was withholding their per diem and equipment, and was warned about the scholarship thing and still did it.

Yeah I had to take a double take on that number. Loyola New Orleans is more than 10 grand a year total over that.

Saban to coach both for $58 Million. As long as fb gets to playoffs he need not win any baseball games. $75M and he is next governor. all this per cnn\msnbc
