What about hoops? I guess Dawn Staley has an advantage in BR.

The home team gets higher scores. The judges learn that during their training.

It's always like that with them. Cookie cutter routines. Even though we lost, we got a really good away score.

I wonder if/when college gymnastics will start using Olympic/modern scoring.

Would be nice to see.

Home cooking is always in effect in gymnastics, and OU is like the Bama of gymnastics. For LSU to come within .200 of winning is actually surprising.

Gotta look at start value, most if not all OU routines have 10.0 start value, especially on some equipment, that there secret to success

It's not a sport. It's a beauty contest.

Pretty much the limit of my knowledge:

At the end of your routine, you have to land on your feed….no steps and no hops.

this is why Olympic gymnast coaches hate college gymnastics. It is intentionally less restrictive aka loose with scoring to add excitement. It draws more fans like that.
If s bull shite.

I've always had an issue with sports where the results are left to subjective judgment.

You see the same head-scratching in figure skating. Not much can be done unless somewhere down the road AI is able to analyze and determine scores without bias.

From what I understand about college versus Olympic, Olympic gymnastics rewards attempting more difficult skills and doing them less than perfect over doing “easier” skills perfectly.

Listening to my wife, this type of scoring would hurt Oklahoma and would help LSU and Alabama.
