That’s what makes these threads the best, saying what Jay should be doing when not paying attention to the program

It’s good but doesn’t beat the thread calling out CPM for benching his hottest hitter, thread was maybe 2 weeks after Dugas had thumb surgery

Stop trying to act like you like baseball. It's clear you do not watch it. If you did you would know Little will most likely not even play this weekend.

I love this time of year because it’s when the folks who have no idea how college baseball works and who’s good at it start to show themselves.
College baseball could not be less like college football. In our sport, there are more than 10-15 teams with history and with a chance to make noise. Additionally there are any number of teams who don’t match up 1-26 with big time rosters but their ace is a dude and in baseball that’s all it takes sometimes.

Wofford is a solid program who can wreck your season. Little is a solid reliever but he hasn’t shown the consistency needed to be trusted to start this one.
Start Jump then Holman then I would think it’s Ack???
Get to Sunday 2-0 and deal with the rest

they have guys who are like 42-46 in steal attempts. They lead the nation in steals.

Alex better get that arm ready, it's going to get tested.

It's definitely not retarded.

It only seems retarded to simple minded folks.

But, I agree that Jay won't risk game 1 and will start Jump.

A thinner bullpen is another reason to pitch off in game 1.

If Johnson started the best pitcher in a generation or more (Skenes) against one of the worst teams to ever make the NCAA Tournament (in terms of winning %) (Tulane), he's NOT going to start a #3 pitcher against a much better team on the road. So really, this discussion is more academic than anything else. And remember, while hindsight is 20/20, LSU's staff after Skenes and Floyd had not been reliable enough all season to generate much confidence. In fact, 95% of the people on here thought is was lights out when LSU lost game 2 in the CWS because they simply didn't have the pitching to come out of the loser's bracket.

Last year's team was good enough to push Skenes back and still win vs. Tulane. This year's team isn't good enough to overlook anyone. And Wofford isn't anywhere close to as bad as that awful Tulane team last season that was 15-38 before miraculously wining the AAC tournament.

A little over a week ago it was far from certain that LSU would even make the NCAA Tournament. 5 games later (in none of which LSU faced an opponent's #1 or #2 starter), the Rant is calling for LSU to overlook Wofford by starting someone from a group that went a combined 2-8 in game 3's in SEC play...with several losses coming in the form of a 10 run rule.

LSU is probably playing their best baseball right now. From this team NOWHERE good enough to overlook anyone in the NCAA Tournament field.

Wofford has a really solid SP (118k in 104 IP), 3.55 ERA

They have a lineup littered with guys who hit well over .300, have some power and steal bases

This isnt some joke 4 seed team we might usually see hosting a regional game 1, they are a solid baseball team and wont be an easy out for us as a 3 seed. They are NOWHERE close to the worst 3 seed out there.

Throw out who they've played, were you still asking about Stony Brook's competition in 2012 when they ran through Miami's regional to come to Baton Rouge for a super? And how about after that SR as well?

Sometimes you just have good baseball teams who dont play much good competition. Doesnt mean they all suck. Wofford has beaten the teams in front of them and done it in really convincing fashion. It's not like they hit .271 as a team with a team ERA of 7 and got lucky and stole a bid in the tournament. They finished with an RPI of 46, which if they didnt win the conference tournament at least would have had them in the conversation as an at-large team. The SoCon is also one of the better mid-major conferences out there in case you werent aware. They had 4 teams in the RPI Top 90 (8 team conference). 6 teams in the RPI Top 110.

I saw Little after the game Sunday and he wasn't moving his right arm at all! He was fist bumping the fans with his left hand and the right arm stayed next to his body.

Tulane was absolutely the worst 4 seed last year and Jay threw the best pitcher in the history of our storied program against them...at home! If you think he's pitching off you are insane!
