You must be pretty young if Katy Perry is the 1st time you heard the corn dig/LSU narrative.
While not at all original, its been beaten to death for years among most SEC Schools.

I don't get why. In an area known for it's cuisine, that jab makes no sense. There's a lot of other low hanging fruit to jab at Baton Rouge or Louisiana for. Put crime scene tape around LSU's dugout. Or every time LSU hits a homerun, say that they murdered that ball, total homeruns could be called a body count. Corndogs is stupid. Nobody really likes them anyway, they're just there. If you want a good one though, I'll bet people from Louisiana could come up with something.

My favorite corn dog memory was at auburn in 2008 after beating them we were being fairly obnoxious while stuck in traffic and an auburn fan threw a box of corn dogs at our car as a an “insult”. One of our guys got out and grabbed it and we all cheers’d some delicious victory corn dogs

My Auburn co-worker thought it was so clever to email the essay / blog by the Auburn fan to our whole department that created the “corndog” joke about LSU. A) it wasn’t really all that funny and B) that was the Burrow last drive / Cade York 52-yard field goal comeback to beat them at home game. My friend didn’t say crap after that.

The original insult was directed at Iowa State fans by Iowa fans. Carnies from Carnivals smell like corndogs they said. It's a Midwestern/Great Plains thing.

It's pretty dumb but it's actually funny how big the corndog jokes got especially several years ago
Back when I was in Tiger Band I was at the 2012 football game at Arkansas and was in the concession stand line that had a corndog sign and saw some Arkansas baw snapping a picture of me and laughing
The next day I got a bunch of texts that he had posted it on the SEC rant saying the LSU band loves corndogs or some crap like that

I didn't say this was the first time I heard this narrative. I said I only heard it from Ole Miss fans until that Katy Perry moment on live TV.
