I know for a fact Verge wants him gone. However, Verge is not the only person deciding his fate, it will ultimately be up to the big money boosters and so far they have been unwilling to pony up for this firing. It will be up to Verge to convince them, which he has been trying to do.

Incorrect. EVERY coaching change regardless of circumstance comes with a mass exodus now.

So we’re eating this crap sandwich for another year…..got it
Only at LSU. I’m hanging on by a thread. Bringing this loser back would kill off my 25 year LSU basketball fandom.

They circled the wagons last year with the whole “underfunded roster” argument. They have nothing left.

This piece is so bad I looked up Todd Horne's email address to respond.

The team is worse than it was in Year 1. That's a failure.
Just look at the person who hired him

This may be the most pathetic piece of journalism I've ever seen.

There’s more apathy surrounding LSU basketball right now than at the end of Trent Johnson’s tenure or Johnny Jones’ tenure. Significantly more, I’d argue. Make the change.

Let him know how you feel.
LSU has no contact e-mail listed for President Wade Rousse or his Assistants.

I'll help him.
1. LSU is paying McMahon for next season one way or the other. Either they are paying him ~$3.0M to coach or ~$2.4M to not coach.
2. If LSU is going to field a basketball team next season, then they have to sign a roster of players. That's going to cost money beyond just revenue sharing. Presumably that money is coming from boosters.
There is no escaping paying MM for next season. The question is does LSU want to pay an additional staff (i.e. new staff) to coach the team? Everyone talks about Wade. Getting him away from NC State will cost money. He has a $3M buyout (after 4/1) and it will take at least $4M in annual salary to get just him. Then LSU will have to pay a new staff in addition to NIL. If the donors are reluctant to pay Wade's buyout + the amount in NIL he will want, the ok. But that doesn't mean you keep McMahon.
First, Wade's not getting "cheaper" next season and neither are LSU's expenses. If you want Wade, then hire him now. LSU had a chance to get him for much cheaper last year and the former admin said no.
Second, you don't HAVE to hire Wade. If you don't want to pay a $3M buyout to hire Wade, then hire someone else. If you don't don't want the expense of paying two coaches, then offset it by limiting the money spent on NIL. That's obviously not ideal, but there is a very high probably that a good coach with $7M in NIL would be FAR better than McMahon with $10M+
Unless LSU plans to ride out this shite-sandwich for another three years then there is very little sense in waiting around. The costs to fix this mess will only increase....all while a revenue stream (ticket sales, advertising, in-game revenue) will decrease.

It won’t be cheap to fire him
It's more expensive to keep him in the long run due to our brand taking a colossal hit. The Guy's a loser.

This is what people don't understand.
McMahon will have to pay double what someone like Florida or Alabama offers a kid given his record over the last 4 years.
Spend less in NIL and find a coach that can get more out of a roster like Bucky McMillan. A&M's roster is not any better than LSU's ( as evidenced by 2 games going down to the final seconds) yet they are 11-7 in SEC play and LSU is 3-15
