There really isn’t a pressing need to fix anything with Tiger Stadium. The PMAC is next up
There might not be a rush, but there are a lot of issues with Tiger Stadium. LSU has just always done a bad job with athletic constructions.

Ben Hill Griffin is one of the ugliest stadiums in the SEC. It DESPERATELY needs an overhaul. Death Valley is fine. As other posters have said: PMAC is the priority.

They get 20% profits from the Gatorade sales, so they probably have it.

Part of the issue also lies with the state bureaucracy you have to go through to build athletic venues on campus
Even though athletics is self sustaining lsu still has to get state approval for major construction projects

It’ll still be a shithole when they’re done.

Tiger Stadium is okay right now
Wifi, cell boosters, LED lights, better seats. There’s always upgrades needed.
They could fund all of this if they made an effort to generate revenue outside of the limited number of home football games and the occasional one-off concert.

Couldn't you build a pretty nice stadium for 400m? Not NFL level obviously but jeez that's a lot of renovating.
$400 million is a wild amount given they're not expanding the stadium structure. For comparison, Colorado States New stadium cost $260 million, UAB was $175. For that cost, you'd expect a massive overhaul at BHG

I hope it’s a true renovation and not a rebuild like Stanford did or anything. I do enjoy games at BHG. It’s a classic SEC venue.

Tiger stadium needs chairs for every seat. frick the fatties
Posted on 7/3/23 at 8:37 pm to otowntiger
The swamp is a dump. No new improvements in years. Capacity will be below 80 K. Pathetic

The problem with the stadium and the area around it is that gator fans are in it
Not sure $400 million is enough to fix that

We need their revenue from concessions.
But I can get on board with giving them their own section. Charge a little extra for the bench seats, their motorized carts, and stock up on all the mayonnaise and ranch dressing they’ll need.

The problem with our renovations is that we look at the last 5 years and see what we were missing and build based on that. Instead we should be looking 5-10 years in the future and building something based on future needs.
It’s a never ending cycle and basically makes the renovations outdated as soon as they are complete.
I totally agree with your take on Tiger Stadium.. Money wasted on stadium in need of a Overhaul. It a Frankenstein of its original structure. Like it or not A&M did what LSU needs to do to TS.
All that being said , we need to turn attention to the Maravich assembly center and Alex Box first.
P.S. - Chairbacks in TS and ABS, ever gave it a thought LSU ?

As an evergreen rule of thumb, let’s not do anything Aggie does, ever

Florida is on a fulcrum. They can tilt to consistent mediocrity or return to being an SEC power. They obviously realize they must do something to improve their chances of success. I honestly hope they do return to being a SEC elite because it makes for a more interesting season.

Wow well that would 100% kill whatever atmosphere is still hanging around.
Doing a complete rebuild would 100% sterilize tiger stadium. It wouldn’t even be tiger stadium anymore.
What does TAMU have to show for their improved facilities?

I was on A&M’s campus one summer when Kyle was getting renovated. All they did was put stucco over an erector set. If anything, Alabama is a very aesthetically pleasing, symmetrical stadium.
Tiger Stadium needs cosmetic updates. The NEZ portals need to be redone in a way to make it all look symmetrical. If it’s possible, I would extend the NEZ scoreboard to go 40ft in both directions. I’d replace the static ad board in the SEZ to look like the two ribbon boards above. There is also a lot of dead space in the back of house that could be used as additional club spaces/aux space. I’d remove the original weight room next to the current locker room and build a larger locker room. I’d then make a ground level club room that has access to see team come out the tunnel.
