Ok, maybe the majority of the rant didn’t immortalize them, but many did including some local media-ites. But the overwhelming consensus now is to fire him asap….which will obviously not happen. For 1 loss, and couple of poor OL performances.

Yea Ole miss should've beat us by 20. We caught every big break in the first half. Also, Ole miss is not that great

Nuss also threw the worst fricking pick I’ve ever seen on the 25 yard line. It goes both ways

Exactly. And Nuss’s pick was unforced whereas Ole Miss’s fumble was caused by a great fricking play by Haulcy. We caused both of those turnovers.

And we had quite a few penalties ourselves, including several 15-yarders on defense at inopportune times that prevented us from getting off the field. What if Wes Weeks doesn’t have that boneheaded late hit penalty and Ole Miss starts that drive 2 and 20 from deep in their own territory instead of 1st and 10 from their 35 (or close)?

Or if Woodland doesn’t interfere on his pick 6 that got called back? It was definitely PI, but he didn’t need to interfere, the WR was not even looking back for the ball. If we’re playing the “what if” game, you have to do it both ways. And as far as penalties go, the yardage and timing are far more important than just the sheer number of them.

yes, it was close on the scoreboard, but we got statistically dominated.

No doubt, but that was part of our defensive game plan. Which, I think we all disagree with in hindsight, but I understand what Baker was thinking. Ole Miss is an undisciplined team with a QB who had never played against the type of athletes we have on defense. We were going to make him go the length of the field in a lot of plays and banked on him either eventually turning the ball over or not hitting on a bunch of 3rd and longs like he did.

Knowing what we know now, Baker probably dials up a lot more pressure. I think by the time he figured it out, we had already been on the field too much and our CBs and Edge guys were too gassed for the pressure to get home.

Have to tip your cap to Ole Miss, Lane, and their QB. And Lacy was an unheralded hero in that game. He had so many big runs that either moved the chains or kept them in front of them almost the entire game. They had a better plan and they executed better. That is the great thing about the 12-team playoff. Tip your cap, learn from it, and move on. All this whining would be a lot more justified if we were still in the BCS era. Or if this was our 3rd loss.

Ole Miss could have scored again at the end if they wanted to. Completely dominated us.

I love you LSU folks but you guys really, don’t seem to know how bad things could ever be.

“We demand excellence!”

“We don’t settle for mediocre results!”

“This guy sucks, fire him!”

I’ve heard all of that before for my own school…..going on for about 25 years now. Be careful for what you wish

You guys lost a close game to a long time rival school who happens to be playing some pretty damn good football in recent years and was trying to win a game too. At their place.

LSU will be fine.

You are proving my point. You are just saying “what if LSU players did a bunch of stuff that they didn’t do, we would’ve won!”

What if DJ Lagway didn’t throw any interceptions? Then what?

Yall say what yall want, but the only facts are that LSU played like shite and still could have won. The OP is right.

But we didn't....

Im tired of these threads. Seems like we have them every year. Were always that one play away from beating a team we shoukd even though we played bad. The key being “we played bad”. Brian Kelly aint it! Hell never be it. Now we have to wait 2 years at least before we can go out and find the coach who CAN.

One vs Clemson and Florida and we're 2-3. See how easy that is?

Our D is no joke.

I just don't see us hanging up many Ws with the O we have. They may all be close but I don't see us overcoming the lack of any run game.

They could have scored again but just ran the clock out. They dominated the game for the most part.

Just being objective

Our first scoring drive was fluky. Then we had the punch out fumble on our own 2 yard line. This Ole Miss team is nothing special, they dominated possession and completely controlled the flow of the game. Its weird that you would want to take some moral victory in this loss.

We have bottomed out several times in my 45 years, we always bounce back because of Louisiana talent. Our floor is higher than Nebraska because of it and expectations are through the roof always in every sport. To be fair we have a lot of hardware to show for it.

Kelly has really fricked up, he's backed himself into a corner on NUSS,injury
Obviously He's hurt, Kelly ain't doing himself any favors, with the way he's handling it. He won't be fired, but changes are gonna be made at the end of the season, next year is when his seat gets really hot
