He could have made the case that this league is tough top to bottom and that when a team like LSU needs a game more and can start their friday night guy things like this can happen. But, he firmly believes that Georgia is a top 8 team.
Instead, when asked, he didn't say they were top 8, instead said they were just a host team, and tried to shite on his opponent.
Wes Johnson might still be developing as a head coach.

Coaches say what is best for their team...

He chose not to make a case for his team as a national seed and instead decided to take a shot at 13 win teams.
It's counter productive to what he's trying to get done...and it's just a bad look to not support the teams in your conference when you are at the conference tournament.

Will be interesting to see how the tournament plays out for UGA, Wes certainly walked into a great situation from a hitting standpoint having the best player in the country in Condon there. They really mashed it this year between Condon, Collins, Toetz and their freshman Phelps, and pitching has been suspect to say the least, just nobody they really lean on there. Those first 3 guys I mentioned above are all gone after this season, so a lot to replace there.
He did the portal pretty decently in year 1, going to have to get some hitting and pitching for sure in year 2.
