Dont think he knew exactly how all this would play out when he made the decision. He likely still wont make it out of the second round.
You would think there’s someone in Football Ops that could provide good council...

How would coming back another year help him with the combine? That's nothing but a lack of preparation.

That said, any GM who takes Key in the first round is a fool. Too many questions and too many red flags. He has the talent to be great but seems to have the mindset of a complete bust.
Mingo went in the first round with no red flags and a great mindset.
This isn’t an exact science.

I wonder if we'll ever get the real story about his time at LSU.
Right after we get the real story about what happened on 1/9.

Exactly. Key is Mingo with attitude and desire issues.
Would not touch in the first round

Maybe so it doesn’t get worse

Mingo was a better athlete who couldnt gain weight to save his life.
Key is a better player, worse athlete, and wont have much trouble adding weight

He still gets picked in the first round though I bet

Says the guy who prognosticated a great pro day for Key. Long strider and all...

Going into the 2017 he was a 'lock' 1st rounder.
After the combine, he slid deep into the 2nd.
I wouldn't be surprised to see him go in the 3rd now.

Dude will be like Mingo, except not as high as a draft pick. Won't really amount to anything in the NFL but you will look up and realize he has played 5+ years
Posted on 4/4/18 at 6:17 pm to SPEEDY
He seems to be a serious gamble at this point

Another Key thread smh.
He will be fine.
He will be fine.

care you elaborate about what you disagree with in that statement?
Posted on 4/4/18 at 6:37 pm to SPEEDY
Because he is Johnny Manzel and J. Russell 3.0. That's why.

I tend to think he may not have been making the grades needed to stay in school as well. I think he is going to struggle when it’s all said and done. Truth will come out.

The key for Arden Key is to stay ardent in his improvement.

Do you think it was going to get better if he stayed? Character that piss poor only improves with prolonged suffering. Unfortunately, for those coddled athletes, by the time they have suffered enough they’ve lost their athletic ability.

I am not the smartest guy out there but if it came down to signing a 5 million dollar contract, I would preemptively hire a trainer, a chef, a nutritionist, a therapist, anybody to get me in shape to play football. If I am not in school anymore, I am spending 8 hours per day to get ripped ! Esp. If it means adding a 5 and six zeros to my checking account.
