re: Why hasn’t McMahon been fired yet?

If this loser is brought back, then I will gain so much valuable time back. I will just check the scores on my phone (while continuing to pull for LSU to lose until a change is made), but I will no longer waste any further second on watching this pitiful product.
The McMen can spin on here amongst themselves with the latest litany of excuses for why we’re 2-12 in SEC by mid February. I’ll just let those idiots waste their own time.

I hope we go 0-30, only 200 people max show up to home games, we give this loser a SHOESTRING budget and make him play a top 5 hardest strength of schedule.
Do you think we get more ping-pong balls in the lottery if this happens?

A lot of people will checkout for good. People think a few wins and we’re back to the Deaf Dome but in reality we’re hanging by a thread and were barely starting to trust it enough to come out during the Wade years but it wasn’t like the old days or even close in terms of popularity. We’re on life support already, bring him back and I think it’s a bullet to the head of LSU basketball.

Spot on.
Why would I continue to support an athletic department that obviously doesn’t listen to the fans? I get the feeling they’re waiting for one more win to announce he’s back. It’s insulting.

It will take $30 million to get Will Wade home. Someone call a booster

People used to talk about how we needed to move the student section back to courtside but they never would because the "blue hairs" buy those tickets and consistently show up. McMahon has killed off even that crowd.
Verge was standing with senior player's families during pregame ceremonies and I don't know how he can ignore that the stands were literally 95% empty.

It doesn’t have to be Will Wade. Good grief. Just get any new voice in here.
What we have now is an abject failure.

got one more loss in Nashville

The program has needed a makeover for over a decade. PMAC plus overall direction of the program. Everyone around us is eating good while we starve to death in the same local region, there’s a lot of frickery that needs undoing at LSU.

You gonna be really disappointed but I’m hearing he’s coming back next year,

No problem, we just need the #1,2,3,4,5,6,7 recruits in the country plus the top 5 portal transfers to get to 10 SEC wins and a 1st round exit in March. All good

Sources say that Verge is waiting on your $1M donation to the buyout.

Dale Brown went 12-6 in the SEC with the most loaded roster this program has ever seen.. Shaq, CJ, Stanley etc.). You give that group to McMahon and it’s a 6 win team. There’s zero upside to bringing him back, it’s all downside. I just don’t see how you bring him back.

$10,000,000 buyout is my guess.
They might be waiting for his buyout to go down in April. I don’t know how this affects things, but it could be a consideration

there are boosters who feel that Mcmahon had a tournament team until Reed and DJ went down.
So now you go into next season with hopes that a guy (Reed) coming off of two season ending major injuries will be something he's never been, a star player, and another guy (Thomas) who has missed nearly 30 games in his career due to injury, will bring a coach, with a largely new roster, to a place (the NCAA Tournament) he's never been close to reaching at LSU?
quote:
Yes, but you are still rolling the dice with another mid major coach hire.
Whether LSU fires McMahon this week or three years from now it's likely they will be hiring a mid-major coach to take over. Including and since 2022 there have been 11 coaching changes in the SEC. 7 have been mid-major hires. The other 3 were guys who, for one reason or another, were pushed of their major conf job (Beard, Calipari, White) and the 4th (Miller was a major conf. poach). So is it the boosters' plans to kick the can down the road to hopefully hire a currently unknown coach who another power conf. program doesn't want? Because that is likely the only way they are getting a "big name proven HC".
quote:
The buyout/hire NIL fatigue is real.
It's one thing to say you are tired of being asked to prematurely dump a winning coach because he's not winning "enough". It's quite another to avoid changing the WORST COACH IN THE LEAGUE FOR FOUR YEARS because you have "fatigue". This isn't a scenario of a coach not living up to ridiculously high expectations. It's a coach not coming remotely close to even the lowest of reasonable expectations.

No, it REALLY NEEDS to be Wade.
We should move heaven and earth to get him back.
If that fails, then yes we still should replace this ABSOLUTE FAILURE.
