Certainly true.
However, it remains odd that if it has already been determined McMahon is staying for year 5 there has been no statement to that effect. ADs (or at least sources) at places like Pitt, Oklahoma, Wake Forest, South Carolina, etc all made statements that their HCs were returning despite having disappointing seasons.
LSU? Nothing....one way or the other. That leads to speculation that McMahon's fate has not been determined. I suppose it is possible LSU could be targeting another HC besides Wade (if they are looking to make a change), but most of the mid-major candidates have had their seasons end now, and of the teams still playing, there are not many coaches in that group who look primed to make a move.
I'm not going to promise, like others, that Wade is returning. But it definitely doesn't look like LSU is "all in" on McMahon either.

And to be clear. I am not guaranteeing that anything happens, just passing along the information I’ve been able to find out to date. If we are waiting till April 1, a lot can happen between now and then.
This administration showed it’s resolved during the Kiffin situation. This one is now far less publicized. At this point, no announcement is good news until April 1.
ETA. I highly doubt anything has been signed. Would create a huge legal dilemma. His bio reduces by $2 million on April 1. If he has signed some back room deal, would be grounds for NC State to seek the bigger buyout.

I agree. But I can't think NC State would just sit around then let their HC leave on 4/2, putting them late in line to hire a new coach with $2M less than they would have gotten if Wade left on, say, 3/31.
From all indications, LSU was amenable to allowing Kiffin to coach in the CFP. It was Ole Miss who, understandably, wanted some clarity as to the future of their HC. Also, it's my understanding LSU paid Kiffin's full buyout. If I'm NC State and I'm aware of discussions with LSU (Wade's contract states he has to provide notice to NC State of such interest), I'm telling Wade to make a decision ASAP so we can fully jump into coach search/hiring mode without breaching the contract. Even if there is some sort of "handshake" agreement between LSU and Wade right now, that could be grounds for a breach of the NC State contract if Wade leaves and refuses to pay the full $5M buyout.

Because LSU fans may have to carve some time out of their schedules next year to watch a NCAA Tournament game?
There might be a little more traffic on campus on basketball game days?
It may be a little more difficult to find a seat in the PMAC?
Fans may have to purchase hot dogs at the game, rather than waiting for the leftovers to be parachuted down from the ceiling?
