Not standing for McMahon but that's a hell of a sample size. A lot can be gained from that. Excellent job proving your post. LOL

NC State is 11-5 in his second year. They are "good losses", but they've lost to most teams they've played with a pulse.
I liked Wade at LSU, but I think LSU could do better honestly.

Might want to go back to the drawing board on that one.

Give it up on Will Wade. He is playing the ACC now. Better situation. He's gone! Move on! Grow up!

If McMahon is fired Wade will 100% get a call. If for no other reason than the fact LSU's President was Wade's President at McNeese. Also, his contract at NC State is LESS than LSU's contract with McMahon. Meaning LSU could offer him the exact same contract they gave McMahon in 2022 and it would beat NC State's contract. Even if LSU offered him the same amount Miss. State is paying their HC, it would be nearly a $2m per year raise than what he's making at NC State. The donors in the state still like him and the only impediments from a reunion on LSU's side are gone (Tate/Woodward).
Obviously, it would be a much tougher sell to get him to leave NC State than it would have been to leave McNeese, but not impossible.

From the guy that said McMahon was clearly a better coach than Wade in shooter’s infamous thread.

If is absolutely possible with the new administration at LSU.
With all due respect, no. He's at a basketball blue blood in NC State. Why would he come back to a school where basketball is considered an afterthought?

It’s not complicated. Make the call to NC State coach. Make him say no. And if no, then move on but he’s absolutely the first call to be made. There’s advantages lsu has the NC State does not.
I can promise you two things:
1. Sold out arena for whatever cupcake we play the first game and during football season
2. NCAA tourney bid

Did we somehow magically transport back to 1995?
The SEC is a much more lucrative conference than the ACC.
He's being paid less than McMahon at NC State.
The SEC is a better basketball conf. now. Last year the SEC had 14 teams reach the NCAAT. The ACC (barely) had 4. The year before the SEC had 8 teams. The ACC had 5. The year before that. SEC - 8; ACC - 5. The SEC is currently the No. 1 (NET) ranked conference. The ACC is 4th. Last year the ACC was 5th.

Will Wade is at NC State. Maybe you thought he was still at McNeese.
He's in the basketball rich ACC, in a state that pretty much worships basketball.
It's over, buddy. We Waded for him. Scott had other plans.

NCAA Tournament Appearances:
NC State: 29
LSU: 24
Final Fours:
NC State: 4
LSU: 4
Consensus All Americans:
NC State: 7
LSU: 7
Conference regular season championships:
NC State: 13 (most recent 1989)
LSU: 14 (most recent 2019)
The one big difference is NC State has two national championships, one being among the most famous in CBB history, while LSU has none.
NC State is not a "blue blood" and I think the actual "blue bloods" in the state, UNC and Duke, would laugh at that assertion. And when compared to LSU historically, there's not a huge difference.

So much so that the school that currently employs him is paying him LESS than the SEC career leader in moral victories.
The SEC has been the better conference for at least 5-6 years now and that gap is growing wider.

So it should be easier to win in the ACC. Maybe he sees an easier path in the ACC. The only advantage LSU would possibly have is NC State lives in the shadow of Duke and UNC in the “triangle” whereas LSU the flagship.
I still wonder if LSU wants the spotlight on bringing back Wade. Don’t fool yourselves, the knifes of the media would come out.

The last time LSU was ranked...Will Wade was the coach. He has gotten NCST ranked in his first year, something MM hasnt even been able to accomplish in 4 years at LSU.

Would not be out of the realm of possibility
-Pretty well known that higher ups (including the Governor) wanted WW back. Doubt that's just gone away
-He has a really close personal relationship with LSU President Rouse from their time at McNeese St.
-He loves the state and would be top dog in the sport in the state. (He's #3 in the state or maybe even lower in NC)
-Has proven boosters both BR and LC to lean on
-Woodward is gone and he never wanted to leave in the first place
-He would be in on the front end of new facilities that are coming to the program.
I believe!!

Perhaps. Or it could be there was only one SEC job open (Texas) when he was hired by NC State.

The current President of LSU was part of the administration that hired Wade a year after he was fired...while he still had a show cause penalty. I don't think he's all that worried about the "spotlight" it would bring to LSU. Hell, LSU basketball could use even a candlelight of attention at this point. Plus, 85% of the BOS members weren't on the BOS when Wade was fired. The two that were are cycling off this year.

That hasn't seemed to bother the admin when it comes to the new football hire.
It's been 4 years. The guy has been hired by two different schools since he was fired. His alleged "crime" was paying players...a "crime" that is now an open necessity in college sports. If LSU cares about some dweeb journalist trying to get attention by virtue signaling over a "crime" that isn't even a crime anymore, then the AD should be tossed out of the sports admin building immediately.
