I don't know about "fixing to eat", but Neville is finally healthy and is much better than the last time these two played. Ouachita's offense is extremely fast and talented......but...Neville's d-line is what it is.....Also, with Neville's o-line finally healed, personnel set and MUCH improved, and with receivers (Sledge) that have returned from multi-week injury....Neville is going to be awfully hard to cover or stop. (Now you have to cover both Zeland Young AND Sledge. Good luck!) Taking nothing from Ouachita, as they are a scary team, and if anybody were to knock off the Tigers, I'd want it to be them. But I don't think this one will be as close as the last one. Tigers still pissed about that kick block/ return by Central in this spot last year. Just one person's opinion.....

Does Catholic have a chance against Karr?

I'd make Karr a 3td favorite.

Karr beats them 8 or 9 out of ten.

If Catholic can go +3 or 4 on turnovers they have a chance.

I have ya'll as 3-1 but that's apples and oranges. WM is not like they were when Shows was there, Ruston and Nevill have certainly not gotten worse.

Karr is a whole different animal and is likely not to sustain that.

Weather will be an issue in a lot of these games tomorrow night. Cool, rainy even some muddy fields

Disciplined teams have a shot as underdogs in wet weather. Some games will be played on turf so the footing will be better but turnovers could still be an issue. I actually kind of like that weather will be a factor. You get to see who can push through it.

It has driven more kids to private schools than ever before for sports.

Is that all against WM ? I don’t remember Catholic playing Neville or Ruston recently . (I don’t pay that much attention) however at the end of the day I would still take the public’s in a pre split match up (besides Karr ) . Like I said earlier Catholic had some great teams in the pre split years they just couldn’t get it done .

Catholic is 3-1 vs WM since the split and 2-0 vs ASH(now “private”)

So 5-1 vs 2-5a

They are also around 5-1 vs Zachary

3-1 vs Acadiana (now “private”)

2-0 vs Destrehan

None of the big publics can beat them

Ash is not the 2-5a I am thinking I am going old school . NHS , WM, RHS , OPHS , Bastrop . Also is it the charters Schools that have benefited the most ? Isn’t Karr a charter (basically a public that can recruit) .

Yes it is the charters and the Karrs that have benefitted most. But they compete with the privates, and iron sharpens iron

Also think catholic has benefited from BR growth and some other private’s closing .either way I would like to see the split done away with but who knows . Texas has their own way of doing it as well and it is a little unique to me .

They also beat the snot out of Central last year who was the non-select State Champion.

Catholic will be on VSN for others I've had some success finding games using the search function in Youtube.

This is my opinion as well. The best athletes want to play for and against the best teams.

Additionally, the non select bracket has become watered down due to forcing open enrollment and magnet schools into the select division.

I think they should create a "super" division and market it as the best of the best. Let anyone in regardless of student population or enrollment type. If you want to be the undisputed state champ in your respective sport then join this division.

This would also allow John Curtis to get back to their championship traditions by ruling Div 1 Select while everyone else goes to the super division.
