I really don't want to see Bama and UGA play three times.
1 of only 2 flaws in the current playoff setup.
Conference Championship games need to be eliminated to avoid the possibility of schools playing 3 times.
Schools that get a bye should get to play the round 2 games at home on campus.

I don't know if a three loss team will get in when you can possibly have lots of two loss teams with solid resume' arguments

Hasnt watered down the NFL as you will have more teams still in the hunt going down to the last few games of the season

Sure it does. This Sunday night football game doesn’t mean shite. Nobody has been eliminated yet, and won’t for a while.
As for CFB, we are never going to see a Pitt knock out an undefeated number 1 team out of the championship game when everyone thought they were going to win it all.

This is also just year one of this system, so we're all still all in every week. I think as the years go by, we'll start caring less and less about a regular season loss. It'll start becoming like the NFL eventually.

Did anyone feel like the Bama-UGA game was lessened? Not only did it have the same cashet as usual, but UGA's remaining games become even more meaningful going forward.
Before, the remaining games wouldn’t have mattered except for bowl bids. Which used to be important.
So that game would’ve been insane.
Bama started this shite. And now here we are.

Would be even more exciting if all conference champs were guaranteed a spot with only 3 at large bids... make the at-large bids only available to Notre Dame and P4 teams... the whole season would matter

I disagree. The loss means absolutely nothing now because Georgia could still lose another game, probably two and still get it. The regular season being so important was one of the things that made CFB so special
UGA isn't getting in with 3 losses

Why not? Let's say they lose close games to Tenn and Texas...why would they get left out? They're better than almost anyone else aside from a few sec teams and maybe Ohio St.

It’s no worse than March madness
Imagine being a 31-2 overall 1 seed and losing the first round

At some point, losses have to count for something.

Teams at least get a shot to improve as the season goes on this way.

No, we didn't. The powers-that-be were the ones who decided to nuke the sport with things like conference realignment, NIL, the transfer portal, and the expanded playoff. Alabama might have played a big part in that but it wasn't us who decided to do all of that crap.

The committee has shown time and time again with a four team playoff that they will ignore actual W’s and L’s for big name teams because based on the “eye test” those teams deserve to get in. It will be way way worse in the 12 team, especially bc they want ratings.
If Georgia is competitive against Texas and Tennessee but loses 100% they’re in. Alabama could lose to LSU/Tennessee and whoever in the SEC title game and they’re in.
Notre Dame lost to northern Illinois at home and is a playoff lock if they win out, and a lot of places have them in even if they lose to USC.
It’ll make the stakes higher for a lot of middle of the road/above average teams, but the name brands will be able to pencil themselves in come mid October every year.

Yes.

Last night’s UGA/Bama game was entertaining, but means almost nothing in terms of what happens at the end of the year. It was a glorified exhibition basically.
You continue to show everyone that you have no idea what you’re talking about

expanded playoffs absolutely gut the traditional end of the year games. Say Alabama is #1 or #2 going into the Auburn game. A loss doesn't knock you down to #13.
Many of you are looking at it in a vacuum. Sure it may lessen the stakes of a few games, but it increases the stakes in so many more.
Previously, how many games at the end of the season truly had playoff implications? Maybe a handful. By the latter half of the season 90% of the country doesn't give a shite about CFB.
Now you'll have many games every week that have playoff implications.
And you really think the top 4 teams aren't going to care about securing a 1st round bye? And the others aren't going to want home field advantage? Those advantages are even more important in college.
IMO, overall the season will be more exciting.

Depends. I won’t put UGA out of the Top 10 for this loss, but Notre Dame should have fallen further after losing to NIU, as should Ole Miss losing to 2 loss Kentucky.

Don't get the Ole Miss love....they're folderol.....played nobody, lost to the first team they played that had a Top 100 team pulse.
But the polls treated them like they were the two-time defending National Champs.
Did the Coaches Poll give Kiffin 56 votes to himself?

Wrong.
Top two teams with the highest win percentage goes to SECCG. H2H is the #1 tiebreaker
