He’s such an easy guy to root for and point to for inspiration.

And the jackasses on here down vote when a player leaaves the sport early, and wants to walk w/o a cane in his 50's.

Watching that special report on Alex when he was going through the surgeries and saying he wanted to make a comeback I cynically thought he was just going through the motions to stay on his contract to get paid.

Dude, proved his worth and me and probably many others wrong. Mad respect!

I saw this movie so many times right when it came out. I saw it again last year because my wife had never seen it, and we both like Archer and Bob's Burgers. I always thought the trainer was just some random side actor but now with a bit more knowledge I immediately recognized H Jon Benjamin's voice. Don't know if I had ever seen what he looked like before then but it was a real moment

My MIL’s (no pics) right forearm looks similarly one year after she nearly lost it to a strep infection that metastasized into multiple infections. She had an open wound on her arm from an insect bite and her grandson with strep throat (my nephew, not my son) literally breathed on it and the infection entered her body. She was in the hospital for a month and had 20+ surgical procedures.

There's a reason why I have still yet to watch that play. Same thing with the Joe Theismann injury.

I was at a bar a couple years ago and an ESPN documentary about his comeback was on. It helped him with his rehab that he was playing in D.C. - he has access to surgeons and rehab folks that worked with veterans who had horrible injuries from IEDs and stuff.

Compound leg fractures are insane. Had a buddy who did that snowboarding and his leg looks like a damn sausage.
I know a guy who died from one. Threw a clot or something of that sort. He went into a coma by the time they got him to a regional facility and was dead in a week or so.

Good thing we all live in a modern society with medical advances to rebuild us after tragic accidents.

I definitely don’t want to time travel to the past.

Spiral breaks are 100x worse. If he had a spiral fracture from just playing football, I have no words. Those are usually from falling from barely survivable heights. I have no clue how he got one from a football hit.

I haven't even touched on infections.

It's so amazing he was able to even do one snap in the NFL after this.

I mean honestly with what he had and the subsequent infection that’s pretty damn good.
