Meh, the field kinda sucks. Him and Sinner should be winning every slam

I don't think it's any different than 2004-2010 when Fed/Nadal were winning everything while Djokovic was still figuring it out.
I think there is a lot of talent in tennis right now, but Sinner, Alcaraz and to an extent, old Novak, are going to block them from a lot of slams.

You must be imagining things.

Alcaraz finished strong. He’s always fun to watch.
Djokovic was pure class in his post-match remarks…

Would’ve given anything to see Djokovic’s 1st set level of play vs Carlos’ 3rd set level of play. Some of Carlos’ shots in the 3rd set were simply incredible.
What is up with Rafa’s hands / fingers? I know he always had them taped and had issues with them while playing, but the dude’s hands look almost as jacked up as Booger McFarland’s lol.

His feet are more fricked up than his hands.

Unfortunately kinda true. At this level, Sinner and Alcaraz will be in the teens in the next 5 years as nobody else is upping their game. I mean CA will have 10+ slams by the end 2027 unless he gets injured. Name a player who can beat these two in a GS final?
fricking Zverev couldn't beat a gimp Alcaraz. Too bad, GOATovic would've gotten his 25th had he gotten to play Sascha.

We were saying the same thing about Fed/Nadal from 2005-2010... and then Novak reached his full powers.
There will always be someone coming around the corner that reaches/surpasses the level of the current powers.
That's the nature of sport.

Sort of agree but I was a fan of Novak since 2008 when he won his 1st GS at the AO, so he was already there and coming up. Sorry to the Fed fans, but Fed won a bunch of Slams against weak arse competition until Nadal came along and then Joker a few years later. Fed's "dominance" will look similar except there's now two of them who will basically trade off every GS all year.
I said it earlier, Sinner/Alcaraz matches are epic...now. At the end of this year when the other 3 GS are the same two and then into next year it's going to get boring. Maybe we get an upset here and there that one of them doesn't make it to the Final, but it's a lock that one of those two will be winning every GS for the next few years unless they get injured.
You say there's someone coming around. Who? You saw Nadal coming. You saw Joker coming. I don't see anyone coming. Shelton isn't there and is older. Musetti can't seem to stay healthy. We already know that Fritz and Zverev aren't the ones. So who?

Novak played plenty of dreck post Covid. Guys like Thiem aren’t winning a major again any time soon.
Nadal had to play prime Fed straight into prime Nole with Murray in there too

Feels like revisionist history.
We didn't see Nadal coming. His first French Open win came in his sixth major.
And yeah, Novak won his first in 2008, but it was a weird Aussie where he beat Fed in the semis and then an unranked Tsonga in the final. Then the knock on Djokovic from the rest of 08 through the end of 2010 was that he physically was falling apart. At that point, he looked more like a Del Potro cautionary tale than the future GOAT.
It wasn't until Novak made crazy changes to his diet and conditioning that he reached his super saiyan potential.
As for now, "who" the next is is tough to tell, but the past has taught us that it can come from nowhere and can come quickly.

Name the "drek" and who he beat before the Final. People like Fed and Nadal sometimes. Considering he hasn't won a major since 2023, his "plenty" of major wins post 2020 aren't as many as pre-COVID. Fed did play prime Nadal after collecting quite a few majors already. And funny, if Fed had to play prime Nadal, Murray, and Joker then doesn't it stand to reason that Joker had to play those guys too? Anyway, not going to get into a Fed vs Joker pissing match because it's painfully obvious Novak is the GOAT, this was more to establish that I think we'll see 2 guys winning every title for a few years ala Fed and then eventually Fed/Nadal.

You need to relax big dawg.
No one is trying to discredit Novak. Literally impossible to do so when a dude wins 24 slams. That shite is generational.
But based on your argument about Fed's early run, Novak's 2021 was on the same level with Fed out, Nadal's body on its last legs, while Sinner and Alcaraz needed another year or two of seasoning.
Still impressive to win 3 slams and make the final in all 4, but there's a reason he was facing Med, Tsitsipas, Berretini that year and then Kyrgios in 2022.

Agreed, but he actually beat Fed and won the major. Something none of the other guys have done so far other than Sinner and Alcaraz. Med and Thiem are the only people to win a title outside of the people we're discussing in the last 10 years. And we know Thiem got an asterisk title because of the pussy USO throwing Joker out. Med won his fair and square against Joker.

I hope you're right and it's soon. We at least need a big 3.

I won't disagree, but you're talking one year. Fed had many years of nothingburger opponents.

Of the guys that are 21 and under.
If Michelsen can continue to put on muscle he might be able to challenge. His backhand is top tier, just needs to fill out.
Mensik is only 20 and has a master's title in Miami 2025. Still needs to work on his fitness to survive 5 setters.
And Fonseca has a very high ceiling if he can stay healthy. Biggest FH of this young generation.

Good names to watch, plus Musetti if he can get his conditioning in order. Hopefully Shelton can get him at least one GS. I'm hopeful we see some variety in these Slams and soon. Poor ole Joker can't beat Father Time as much as he wants that 25th so it's gonna be Sinner/Alcaraz for a while unless these bucks come through.

I still think Djokovic has a weird one left in him where both Sinner and Alcaraz miss the final.
I'm very curious how Alcaraz handles thing now that he's got the career slam. In the past, he has talked about not necessarily being hungry for winning lots of slams if it meant he sacrificed his happiness and his talking points today were about the "job being done". Obviously, he's still going to be making deep runs for the foreseeable future on natural ability, but I do wonder if the foot comes off the gas a bit for him.

I hope so, but honestly this was the best chance. fricking Zverev
Interesting thoughts re Alcaraz, but I'd be shocked if he lets off the gas. It doesn't seem his style. Although, you never know with these guys. Borg is the obvious example.
