No way he just accidentally overdosed using shite recreationally.
huh? People often overdose recreationally, particularly with fentanyl. See my post above.

No one did this.
They simply expressed grief that a 27 year old died and held memorials during games for their fallen teammate and friend. Like anyone would do if they lost someone close to them, regardless of how he died.
That's how I saw it too. It's still a tragedy regardless of the cause.

Totally plausible. Something seems off. The only way a 27 year old is using it is if he had a major durg problem or he had no clue how dangerous it was. You don't go straight to fentanyl.

This.
MLB, the team, etc haven’t defended a thing. They mourned him. Nothing wrong with it.

Who the hell goes to a bachelor party and busts out casual fentanyl?
did you read the rest of my post?
I'm saying it's being used to cut cocaine everywhere at the moment. Big news segment on it in my area a few months back even. I'm saying you can OD on fentanyl by doing a little blow at a bachelor party. Small amounts of fentanyl can be deadly and drug dealers are reckless.

What is even more fricked up is ODs are good for business. Crackheads love strong shite.

While sad, I think some of these deaths are deemed more tragic than they are used as a means to understand how bad drugs are. It was hard for me to feel bad for Jose Fernandez after he was on drugs and killed people in that boat.

He didn’t need to be an addict to die from fentanyl.
You’ve seen powdered cocaine.
Dip your pinky in that and taste it, you’re likely dead.
People are dying daily from fentanyl-laced drugs prepared by drug dealers.

Even if you aren't in a legal state, I would stay away from anything that doesn't come from a licensed dispensary. Go visit and bring it back, buy online, whatever. I only trust places with quality control.

My first instinct when fentanyl is involved is to wonder if the person taking the drugs knew they were taking fentanyl.

here is a rollingstone article
How Fentanyl Is Contaminating America’s Cocaine Supply
quote:
Over the last few years, this illegal fentanyl has started to make its way into heroin and other opiate-based drugs, such as oxycodone. It’s a cheap alternative to those drugs, and since it offers a similar sedentary high, drug traffickers at every level of the chain began cutting it in as an adulterant. But the synthetic opioid, which is 25 to 50 times more potent than heroin, is now popping up in an unsuspected place: the country’s cocaine supply.
quote:
The combination is killing people: In New York City, for example, 37 percent of cocaine-related overdose deaths reported in 2016 involved fentanyl. That year, its northern neighbor, Connecticut, recorded 143 overdose fatalities where fentanyl and cocaine were present — in 2015, there were only 42. Just last month, four people died as a result of fentanyl-laced cocaine in San Diego, California.

Damn. I feel played that I put the Facebook picture filter up for someone who died from drugs.

Yeah this is a different scenario. Putting others a risk changes things.

I highly fricking doubt Skaggs was just doing fentanyl. That's just...not really how it works.

Wouldn't the autopsy show cocaine too though?

You are right I missed that coke part.
The cutting coke with fentayl seems like insanely bad business. I think this is more fear mongering than truth.
It’s obviously has happened but I am going to guess it’s overblown

Right, nobody is calling their dealer asking for an 8-ball of fentanyl.
