Catholic looked like a dirty team last night. Idk what happened to them but it’s just not a good luck for the team. #10 should go to confession.

I mean ya. That & since winning a title they’ve really drawn a lot of kids from the West Bank. Ja’Marr chase for example

Seems like Rummel is pulling a good number of West Bank athletes that in the past had gone to Shaw. Shaw’s program going down hill helped. Quick ride across the river to play for a superior football program is not that much of an inconvenience.

For those who went, how did having the game at Tulane’s stadium compare to having the state championship at the dome? Just watching the highlights, it seemed like the Tulane setup seems way more conducive to a HS state championship.

Sure playing in the dome is nice but you’re still playing in front of a 2/3 empty stadium. The stands looked pretty full seeing some of the clips on social media.

Remember when football state championships meaner something? This public/private set up is stupid. Winning 3 games gets you a title. And one game is usually against a cupcake.

I thought it was really good. The stands are right on top of the sidelines which makes it really, really loud. It will be interesting to see total attendance numbers. The Rummel side was packed. The CHS side wasn’t full but had good numbers. I-10 getting shutdown certainly didn’t help CHS’ attendance.

Like LSU...

Shows how much of an a-hole you are making a comment like that...

Yes, like LSU

Jesus why are you so sensitive to a fact

My comment didn’t even piss Lester off you little fairy. It was just something that was very noticeable compared to how Rummel was when I was in school. Rummel used to look like catholic. 50/50 on their football starters. It’s impossible not to notice the clear shift

Lester saying it was a Westbank shift makes complete sense. The team was very sinilar to the Shaw teams we played. Athletic as hell out there

It felt a little better than the dome, but honestly, it’s all stale now with the split

For example, catholic pretty much just plays the same teams every year in the title game

2015- player rummel for state
2017-player Curtis for state
2018- played Curtis for state(and played rummel in the semis )
2019- played rummel for state (and played Curtis in the semis )

It’s all just a round robin of 3 teams

You can thank the split for that...

As happy as I am for Rummel, it’s a watered down championship, it sucks...
At least Rummel got one in before this shite...

Yep.

It’s sucks for everyone. The Catholic League plays each other in district and then again in the playoffs.

CHS struggles to get the one seed because their district is bad so even going undefeated isn’t enough when someone comes out of the Catholic league undefeated.

And having 13 teams in a Division is just dumb.

This. You must have been sitting close to me. I used to coach at catholic and this was my first game back watching. I never realized it was like that in the stands. These dads don’t have a fricking clue and are cursing in the stands
I was one of the guys that went confront the one dad that was losing his mind and was screaming at his son and cussing the coaches

I was very glad when the cops came and escorted him I thought he was going to kill me, but I couldn’t listen to him anymore. I’m actually going to call the catholic admin on Monday and say how disappointed I am in the school for allowing that to happen. As a grad that was an embarrassment

Yulman was great.. My only complaint was they should've opened the upper level on the Rummel side...

and of coarse the parking sucked...

and good luck to these Rummel alumni going for the SECC...

Did not think about the goal posts being narrower than high school because of was a college stadium (mentioned in the Advicate write up this morning).

Both of Dupre's misses would have been good with HS goal posts.

Still baffled by why the kickoff to Kaufman after the TD.

Great season Bears.

I liked it.

That was my first time watching a ballgame at Yulman and it truly is a great stadium to hold a HS championship at if they had to...just the parking was a nightmare. Also, the weather was about as good as you can ask for minus a few minute sprinkle showers. Really lucky it wasn’t one of those freezing December nights with rain.

Rummel’s side was sardine packed and people had to start overflowing to the end zone bleachers. I wish they would have opened up the top.

Catholic brought a lot of people given it was a Friday night game an hour away and with the parking issues around the stadium.

What kinda Mickey Mouse shite is this?

Does the Dome account for this?

Actually they do, goalposts are changed out for the H.S. championships in the dome. Hash marks and numbers are adjusted as well.

That guy is insane. And he’s still embarrassing his son going off on Twitter after the game. His son is a great kid who played his heart out for Catholic for 4 years.

Great feedback! Felt like this would’ve been a better situation than the dome given the smaller size but it still being a new major college facility.

Interesting

So in theory, catholic actually lost because they didn’t play on a regulation high school field

Screw the Catholic Admin in that case

They never would have allowed that shite when I was in school. They literally did nothing last night. They were going to just let that shite continue

Wife woke up bitching about the game and the refs.

God...I love that woman.
