Which is what Reilly misses. He does his typical anecdotal schtick about how well it turned out for his kid but he fails to realize that every situation is different.

she was 18 when she got pregnant with Colin...she says his father wanted nothing to do with Colin so she felt the best thing to do for him and her would be to put him up for adoption...she met with 3 different families and decided on the Kaepernicks...the parents kept in touch with each other for a few years and then stopped...when Colin turned 18 she googled him...they begin talking on myspace but after a while they stopped talking

colin should be thankful she didnt abort him

she seemed sincere about wanting to get to know him and that it has nothing to do with money but what do i know

and yes RR is a POS

Yes. The fact that she started talking to him back when he was at Nevada....when no one expected THIS out of him or really for him to be a pro at all, makes me think it's not about money.

I remember all too well the personal family matter he pulled on Tiger the week of the Masters. Such of POS.

Of course it should be whatever kaepernick wants! The fact that she contacted him when he was a nobody doesn't show me she truly cares for him. Who knows maybe that DEGREE could have been of some use to her. I wouldn't trust her and this stunt would just solidify my decision if I was kaepernick.

I never will be in this situation, but his real mom is his real mom. I would want to connect with my real parents. If they were pieces of shite, hey, at least I gave it a chance. She seems sincere, and she isnt some druggie. So long as she is not trying to get money, I think that it is fine.

No one really knows what they would do without actually being in that situation.

Yuo must be a better man then me. Even if she doesn't look like a drug addict I would hope he would listen for the key words like: bad economy, some investments, that was just just the credit card company calling, and stuff like that. So yes I agree with u I wouldn't give her any money.

...and if she has a sincere, dollar free agenda in reaching out to her son then good for her-but using that d#ckpile and his network to do it makes me wanna barf.

Im adopted. I knew that my entire life, when I was 18 I met my biological mother and her family. When I was 20 I moved out to the same part of California once out there I found out I was conceived through an act of date rape.

Both families lived in the same small town, I look just like my bio dad, (whos family was wealthy and his only punishment at the time of the act was to to join the Army). Obviously my presence wasn't welcome.

I didn't ask for any of this to happen, I didn't even exist when it took place, but somehow I become the center of all the emotions, accusation, counter accusations, rumors and other related bullshite.

I might not have been a child at the time all this took place, but I had zero to do with the events that set it in motion. Same with Kap. he didnt make any of the choices that created him or lead to his adoption.

The mom, ESPN and Riley should respect his right to make his decision ( which apparently he has made) and to his privacy about the matter.

No, the woman that raised him is his real mother. Especially if he feels that way personally

I love how all the dick eaters in this thread have failed to mention about the story. I think she even had some minor contact with him in high school. Or kept up with him at least. People automatically think just because he's a star now, that she's out for the money grab. And it's not all their fault because that is almost always the case. It almost forces you to think the worst in people.

I dont think many people have a problem with the mom...

Only RR for bringing attention to the story.

I personally think she really cares about her son and it hurts her inside.

But RR/ESPN didnt do that family any favors putting that on TV/having articles..

You do that AFTER Kaep gets back in touch with his bio mom on a full time basis.
