Know how I know? All 4 of the Dakota schools are getting hit left and right by transfers right now. Portal opened, and the cash came calling.
Big Ten and SEC schools are paying $500k just for O-line depth, 2nd stringers, not even starters.

I didn't mind it on 3rd down, but man, on 4th & 10 with the national championship on the line, and Montana State's offense sputtering down the stretch? I think I'd sit in coverage and force them to find a gap.
However, attempting the FG instead of going for it on 4th & 1 in regulation is the bigger decision that I'm second-guessing if I'm an ISU fan. Oh well, it was still a great run for the Redbirds this year.

North Dakota State was still the best team in FCS this year. They just were upset by Illinois State in the playoffs.
South Dakota State did have a lot of guys leave with their coach to go to Washington State and went from a semifinalist in 2024 to just 9-5 this year.

Not sure about NDSU being the best team. Check out the box score against I’ll State. Total domination by the Redbirds.

Illinois State had no business even making it this far. They should ultimately look at this season with a lot of pride. Especially considering they beat NDSU in the playoffs already.
