re: Justin Thomas enrolling in a “training program” after using homophobic slur on himself.

South Park hit what most people mean when they say this years ago:
“All right, look, you're driving in your car, okay? And you're waiting to make a left at a traffic signal. The light turns yellow, should be your turn to go, but the traffic coming at you just keeps coming. And even when the light turns red, a guy in a BMW runs the red light so you can't make your left turn. What goes through your mind?”
“fig.”
“Right. But you're not thinkin' "Oh, he's a homosexual," you're thinkin' "Oh, he's an inconsiderate douchebag."
Seriously doubt Thomas was calling himself a homosexual in the context of when he said it, and it’s stupid for people to get “outraged” thinking that he meant it that way.

Louis CK said it best during a stand up:
"When I was a kid, we called someone a fig because they were just being a fig. It had nothing to do with sexual orientation. We weren't saying they were gay. They were just, you know, being a fig."

And I would guess the percentage of gays that
1- knew about this before it blew up and
2- offended by this
Is pretty damn low

The best part is that Justin isn’t actually sorry, most people don’t give a frick, and Ralph Lauren higher ups 100% use non-PC language behind closed doors
But because a small percentage of the population can scream very loudly, this becomes a National Sports Headline

This is ridiculous. It’s such a great word and doesn’t even describe a person who lays with men. I know tons of ph@gifts and most of them are straight.

Call me a poon if you'd like but I'll sit through a 4 hour bs training class if it means keeping the sponsors that pay me millions of dollars simply to wear their products.
Sit through even more pointless trainings for a fraction of the cost already

Everything is overblown these days. Jesus.
People are taking in news and occurrences in 4 second long bits. There’s no time to do anything other than strongly react and move on to the next thing.
**something happens**
Hey look!
React!
Everyone react!!!
REACT!!!
REACTIONS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Now, these brain dead fools have figured out that ^^^^ that mind bogglingly stupid shite can literally change peoples’ lives and ruin them. Most of them are also democrats. And democrats are on a war path to destroy everything they don’t agree with.
Then we have huge companies either bending the knee to this vile horde of stupid useless people or outright helping them destroy everything they don’t agree with.
Of course everything is overblown these days. It’s an extremely effective weapon and the left is wielding it to perfection.
shel, way to go.

Agreed. Someone earlier mentioned that he could live comfortably off his winnings. Sure, if he were living like us, but he has a different lifestyle that he is accustomed to. I would guess that his money he makes off sponsorships is probably double what he makes in earnings on tour.
Also, he has done quite a few celebrity events where he is the on course announcer. He's pretty good at it, and I am guessing that he would like to do something on TV in 15-20 years when he is done playing. One small class is nothing in the grand scheme of things.
And, don't get me wrong. I think this is all ridiculous, but I don't blame JT for doing this. It won't impact me thoughts on him as a person.
