The performances were bad enough.

After the post Cincinnati rant trashing his players, we knew it was over with.

Unfortunate it didn’t work out for him. Seemed like a good dude (not that that makes him a good coach but still). Hopefully hes learned and finds a way back up to another HC job somewhere and it goes better.

Never liked him. Always came across as an arrogant douche

They’re trying their best to avoid that $18 million buyout

He at least could’ve used empty coach speak last Wednesday and better avoided being fired for cause.

It also states that Tang “shall not engage in any behavior, actions, or activities that subjects coach, K-State Athletics, or the university to public disrepute, embarrassment, ridicule, or scandal.”

Slippery slope. Lots of teams cause embarrassment to their schools

2 minutes of calling out his players' effort isn't going to pass "for cause" muster tho

Giving him that massive raise after one season (his first ever as a head coach) was insane. The fact that 3 losing conference seasons years later and his buyout is still almost $20m, is INSANE. All time shite contract

I'm sure the school will try to force him to settle for less but unless there's other things we don't know about, he'll be collecting it

Pretty crappy for K-State to "fire him with cause". If they were 11-1 in the Big XII and he said what he said after the Cincy game, no one would bat an eye. If that was so heinous that it warranted being "fired for cause", why did they not fire him immediately thereafter? I hope he sues them into oblivion if they try to pull this.

What about removing names on the jerseys? Don't think I have ever seen that before.

There should be some type of penalty for firing people for cause, when there is no clear for cause.

Are coaches now not allowed to say anything negative about their players?

Not saying he shouldn’t have been fired. I’m saying fire him, pay him his money and move on.
