Acadiana is about the worst possible matchup

yeah, 2 time defending state champ... just fricking great....
And they're one of those teams that just turn it on in the playoffs no matter how the regular season went. Very tough match-up for anyone.

Yea we would played St Amant if Mandeville didn't lose to Covington. That would have been a much better matchup. I'm just happy the team is getting some playoff experience. It should help them moving forward. I'm ok with the program taking baby steps every year. Just look at Acadiana it took them decades to get rolling. The offense next year should be more explosive with a mobile QB & the two sophomore receivers having another year to get bigger & stronger.

Yep, you look at their schedule and you see they got killed by Ponchatoula & struggled with Barbe and Sulphur but it's deceiving. You know they'll be in championship caliber form in the playoffs.

Several reasons:
One of the best strength coaches in the state
One of the best coaching staffs in the state
A community who adamantly supports the program
A group of hard nosed kids who play the game correctly
An administration that works with the staff and community to implement an innovative vision and strategy
Example: The $800,000 jumbotron that will be paid off in several years and start returning 10's of thousands of dollars per year back to the school
If you want to win, try getting better and quit making excuses
you forgot holding back players for years

Nah, they held back at other schools before we recruited them.

People move kids to go to West Monroe because it is a good school and good program. Parents send kids to private school because it is a good school and good program. My point? If you are a good school and good program you recruit whether you are public or private. Shitty public schools need to improve in this state and stop blaming everyone else

Vermilion Catholic in D4 ... center has a torn MCL; awaiting ortho consult to see if they can brace him up.
BACK UP center has a "piece of his shoulder broken and floating around" and the ortho is surprised that he's been playing guard at all this season.
AND we have to go through Southern Lab if we make it that far.
(Also we got penalized for Catholic Highs ineligible player ... we should have been #1 from what I can understand but AES jumped us as our wins were "lessened" or not counted.)

The fact that some people don't believe recruiting is going with private schools is absurd. Now I'm not saying all private schools do this but for instance, I have seen coaches from various BR area high schools who are on the sidelines decked out in their high school gear watching these 7th and 8th grade CSAL games, just like you see coaches in college going to high school games. Their was also a scenario where high school coaches were even at practice trying to get kids to go to their school. I don't know if Catholic High still does the "Bruin Bowl" which they claim is a "championship game" but we all know the reason they host it.. with all the programs they give out stating Catholics past history, NFL talent, and so on... This is why the public/private split is in effect. It's just not fair to public schools who don't have the luxury to follow these same tasks as most private schools do.

Had Rummel allowed Curtis in the Catholic back in the day when they kept applying then they wouldn't have been having to trounce poor 2A schools like Winnfield and then the Winnfield principal would have gotten their panties in a wad and pushed for this split.

The LHSAA Power rankings are a joke. Take Div2 for instance: UHigh legitimate #1. St. Thomas More #2 - lost to Teurlings Catholic - STM & Teurlings Catholic both lost to Catholic BR - Parkview beat Catholic BR yet STM ranked ahead of Parkview. DeLaSalle beat nobody & lost to Lutcher and ranked #3 ahead of Parkview(#4), St Louis(#5), & Teurlings Catholic(#6). Teurlings Catholic is ranked #6 and they beat #2 STM. St Louis lost to a couple of very good teams(Cecilia 4A & Barbe 5A) but won their district and they are #5. LHSAA should just say we're going to tell you who will be in the dome OR who we don't want there again this year!

Power rankings is a system the LHSAA has been going with for a while, has nothing to do with the split

Sorry but Riverside will beat ND(if ND makes it that far) just like ND got whipped in 3A/D2 playoffs until they ran to 2A thinking they could win there. Yes we know...ND won it in 2009 due to some dropped passes by Parkview.

Ok go cry about it. Of course private schools are trying to flaunt their schools so kids apply. It's not just athletics bud. It's how private schools get any kids to come to their school.
Go to catholic's open house and see the production they put on. Are you saying they should tone it down a bit so the poor public schools could get some more kids?

You have a link for that rabble? How did they run away from 3AA?
