The SS, Davis Meche, is fun to watch. He lives or dies with every pitch when he’s in the field.

After any close pitch that’s called a ball, he turns toward the LF and goes off.

That would be exhausting to watch. Sounds like he's a turd.

I enjoyed it. The game I was covering went 10 innings with Barbe coming from behind to beat Lafayette.

The LSU commit, Brody Drost, worked his way out of a huge jam to win in relief.

Lafayette had the bases loaded with no outs and appeared to have the game locked up, but Barbe got a double play when their RF threw out a runner tagging from third on a fly ball.

You think that’s ‘fun’?

He was playing with emotion in a close, important district game.

I like it.

That kid has a cannon. My son had the only hit for our team against the sophomore LHP Guth. It was a line drive down the RF line and if he wouldn't have been getting down the line he would've gotten thrown out at 1st. That's where the RF was going.

What I enjoyed watching that you don't see everywhere is the Barbe kids that shag balls. They make it into a competition with the other team and even other teammates as to who is going to get to the ball first. First ball that got behind our catcher was snagged up and back in Barbe's dugout before the umpire could get our pitcher another ball!

I'm all for 2 out of 3 each round. Cut the season a week if you need to make it fit. Baseball shouldn't be a single game elimination, ever.

This is the only way that you can honestly say the best team won. I wouldn't even cut the season short. It's already short enough. The playoffs are already going past most of the seniors graduations as it is. Let them keep playing and enjoy it for as long as they can. If anything, I would decrease the number of teams getting into the playoffs. This is what should have been done as part of the split. You wouldn't have a watered down public school playoff or a private school playoff with most of the teams on a bye. That's a different subject all together though. Baseball is meant to be played in a series especially post season baseball!

Probably but West Jeff did play Barbe to 3-2 game in the 1st round not too long ago. So crazier things have happened.
I don't think West Jeff has made the playoffs in a while.

we gave Sam Houston such a scare two years ago in a 3 vs. 30... When we were 19 we beat the John Curtis team that won the Catholic League and had a lot of the kids who ended up going back to back in D1 after...

If your lineup is righty dominated, you aren’t going to touch their closer.
