Since Dick LeBeau retired, Tomlin was exposed and did nothing but change the defense and soften the team.

Losing Ben was the final nail. The entire organization has had zero identity for almost a decade now.

It was time… but going 19 straight seasons in the NFL without a losing record is objectively a remarkable accomplishment.

It’s a qb league and the GM didn’t get him one.
Rodgers with Tomlin this year>>>>Rodgers last year with the Jets.
Russell Wilson/Fields last year with Tomlin >>>>>this year at their new gigs.
Tomlin made the playoffs both years. I’m not sure any coach could’ve done the same.
Look for him to be like Vrabel or Payton & only take another job if they have a young qb.

Do you have any clue how difficult it is to win in the NFL?

Any hint of an idea?

It's fricking hard and some incredible coaches weren't able to do it at all or do it consistently.

Tomlin did it for 19 years and won 193 games which is 9th best in history. He won 8 playoff games as well including a Super Bowl.

Tomlin is a great coach and I doubt he's finished.

How do you figure that?

ETA: Trying to understand the downvotes here. Does that genius think the Steelers came into existence in 1969?

How many big name free agents did they roster during Tomlin's time there? It seems like everybody (outside of every QB not named Roethlisberger or Rudolph) was through draft and development. I don't count Wilson or Fields here because, well, they were massive flops.

In the NFL you win with coaching more than talent. The talent from team-to-team is much closer in the NFL than other sport leagues.

You can not consistently win in the NFL and be a bad coach. I am not sure a bad coach can really even put together one good season or a few mediocre ones.

U probably also think Coach Mike T was a DEI hire?

I think he was considering he had never even been a coordinator when he was hired.
Also his age, and how liberal the Rooneys are. He he hit it out of the park, I think he was a good coach.

Whats the point of making the playoffs just to get bounced every year. Then I look at Marv Levy and i think Bills fans would trade in a heartbeat to get a super bowl.

Pickens is a nutcase, but yes he should have gotten rid of Matt Canada sooner than he did. I'll grant that.

He’s a solid coach who had run his course at Pittsburgh. He’ll have a lot of success wherever he ends up

He's made 155,000,000 over his career, I'd be Enjoying my family, playing golf and fishing till the Good Lord called me home.

And Mike was an excellent coach, Top 10 wins all time.

The Steelers were objectively the worst NFL franchise from their origination until 1969 when they hired Noll. there are 13 Steelers coaches to not win a title.

If you're talking just the Super Bowl era, the first Super Bowl was two years before Noll was hired. Bill Austin was a coach during the Super Bowl era and doesn't have a ring.

Not one losing season

Everyone outside the Pittsburgh area thinks this is so great.

Since 2017 0-6 in the playoffs.

8-12 for the whole career. 5 of those 8 wins came within his 1st 4 years where the majority of the staff and players were Cowher's guys.

Tomlin is easily a hall of famer. But a black one, so losers like this hate him.
